Culture and race have barely anything to do with each other, just saying

when has anyone ever said it was racist for a white person to have or wear braids lol?

Culture and race are two different things. It isn’t “racist” for a white girl to wear braids. I think it’s safe to say that her culture of people don’t really wear hairstyles that included braids in it. But, it depends on what braids a person is talking about. Dreads, individual braids, crochets and etc. Those are types of braids that African American women normally wear. Now these days, white people are wearing those types of braids as well (which is pretty cool). It has nothing to do with race though :woman_shrugging:t4:

It matters if they claim it or disrespect it but still. They always try to pull stuff like this.

My friend @SenchaStories made a great post about the fact that there’s a difference between cultural appropriation and cultural appreciation.

Cultural Appropriation is nothing to joke about, Have you guys ever seen Step-Sisters, She said and I quote “Races don’t own things” We don’t but, they originated from a certain culture, and ppl should learn to stay in their lane and respect that.

How does any person of any race have “the wrong” hair exactly?

Because it’s cultural appropriation.

How do you know it isnt appreciation? Unless you ask?

And I’ve seen your recent posts, and I can tell this will be an argument so. BYE

Sure ^^’

Hey @AMagic here, I know we are all entitled to our opinion, but to you everything is appreciation and not appropriation. It would be great if you see others view. Plus are you POC, just asking?

That’s not true, thanks.

And being POC doesn’t mean my opinions are less/more valid than anyone else’s. Since everyone likes to play identity polies, I’ll tell you though. My dad is black. I dont look black, I look like my mom more. So to everyone else, you can just go ahead and say I’m white so you can rest easy thinking my opinion is not valid. Since ya know… I dont “act black” enough for anybody, anyway, even before when I still produced melanin ^^ I didn’t “act black”. And neither did my granny or dad. So despite them being dark, we can just go ahead and agree that their black cards were taken a long time ago. Just to make it easier for you guys to invalidate us.

(Also my bad replying all slow. Phone is stupid lol)
