I would like to add a point system to my new story which will help the reader determine which ending they get; I’ve seen in some stories people have choices that gain strength/love points, I would like to gain points like this. So if love points build up you get one love intest but if strength points build up you can get a different ending (if this makes sense) only I set my points at 0 for main character and points at 0 for strength (choice example) but it is showing error .
Do these labels have to be assigned to a person?
You could add points to the MC when they gain strength points, and add points to the LI when they gain love points
This might help you
Thank you … I’ve tried creating coding, using characters already used, so far it has saved but I won’t know until the end if it works as the outcome won’t be used until the end of the story.
I’m not sure if labels and such have to be set up for that.
You can always check how many points you have in “Story Modifiers” > “Character Points”. If you make a choice in which you can gain LI points, set your points to 0 with this helper, press the choice that gives you, let’s say, +2 LI points and check again in Modifiers if you gained it correctly.
To use those gained points you will need to code at least two different routes, where the first one is
If (LI>5) {
#5 is just a random number, obviously
#scene for readers, who have gained more than 5 points
} else {
#scene for readers who didn't manage to gain more than 5 points
}
Also
You don’t have to use labels, unless your branching involves changing scenes (different backgrounds), then labels are necessary.
Idk if it answers your questions, feel free to DM me if you need any help, whatsoever.

Thank you. I basically want to earn points up until the end of the story and then have the points determine the ending. So if the reader earned so many points for Zayden, or Maria or Maria 2 then each ending will be different, and maybe backgrounds will be to.
I know this means a lot of work but I want my new story Breaking The Habit to give the reader the choice or the shock factor of how it all ends for the main characters.
That’s awesome!
Cool thing is you can actually put few conditions in order to trigger the branching, so it shouldn’t be a problem.
You should write down how many endings you want there to be in general, and then think about conditions, that must be met to reach particular ending. This will help you a lot with coding it all at the end
I’m learning as I go long as I’ve never tried anything this advanced before?
I’ve already written the six different endings depending on points?
But it is a scary thing because I’m kind of worried that it will all fall apart if I mess it up lol.
Dw, you won’t! Try using a little bit of those choices during your story, even for small dialogue changes. Once you work with it and get to know it better - it’s not so scary anymore.
Thank you
