POV blinking animation

I’m trying to get it to look like you are looking through the character’s eyes and they are blinking (just waking up) 2-3 times. I have tried using the following script

INT. BLACK - DAY
@transition curtain out_top 0.5
EXT. BLUE - DAY
@transition curtain in_top 0.5
INT. BLACK - DAY
@transition curtain out_top 0.5
EXT. BLUE - DAY
@transition curtain in_top 0.5
INT. BLACK - DAY
@transition curtain out_top 0.5
EXT. BLUE - DAY
@transition curtain in_top 1

but it isn’t really working.
Has anyone done this or could someone give me some suggestions on how I might be able to get this to work?

Overlays

You could use overlays, however I used the transitions fade in/fade out and that seemed good enough to me too.

Good idea I might try that first. I only just started using this yesterday so still getting the hang of it all.
