I have a ton of different plot ideas saved up over time and just like @ParkLow_G I want to share them. (I got the idea to share them from her so thank her for that.) If you want to use a plot idea make sure to tell me that way I can make sure to mark it as taken.
How this thread works
This thread will have a ton of different plot ideas also known as prompts. They will be listed by genre and a section for contests. If you have any prompts of your own tell me and I will add them to the list for others to use. No you do not give any credit for these at all as it is just a prompt. You can use these as you please.
- For years the government has been secretly searching for MC. Why? Because the MC is the only person left who escaped their experiments.
- People thought society would be better if we killed the worst 1% every year. Today is the hundredth anniversary, and the idea of the “worst” is getting really hard to decide.
- Before the MC, the villain holds MC’s sidekick and love interest over a cliff, taunting MC to choose one to save. MC takes one second to think about it. MC then shoots them both, to the shock and horror of MC’s archenemisis.

- MC didn’t mean to, but in an attempt to build a time traveling machine, MC actually discovered alternate universes – and then accidentally trapped themselves there. Oh, and this alternate universe hasn’t discovered electricity yet.
- The world MC currently lives on is nearing its breaking point. While the rest of the world rushes to evacuate everyone to a space pod with a destination of a livable planet, MC remains behind bars, left to die with the rest of the world’s prisoners. The kicker? They’re wrongfully convicted.
- Scientists have created a man-made atmosphere around the planet of Mars in order to make it completely livable. MC is one of the lucky few who are chosen to be among the first to inhabit the planet. What they don’t know is that there is no atmosphere…and others already inhabit it.

- MC decides to buy a big school bus and to travel their country. They post an ad asking if anyone would like to join you. They’re surprised by the number of people who show up.
- MC accidentally run over a bunny on their way to work. It turns out that it’s the Easter Bunny.
- MC is single and doesn’t want to get into a relationship. They hate the sight of them. But she is a waitress working at one of the city’s most romantic (and busy) restaurants on Valentine’s Day.

- Happiness is an illusion, as are every other emotion. In MC’s futuristic society, humans are bred in a lab without them as a means of creating equality. The only problem is that MC was born the natural way…with every emotion intact. If this is discovered, they’ll have to fend for their life. Good thing they aren’t the only one.
- Due to climate change, wildfires have spread. Some people including MC are attempting to board a ship set for a new in-ocean settlement. The problem? That settlement doesn’t actually exist. The people on the boat must create it.
- The world is overrun by zombies. A group of teenagers have been dealing just fine with this for the past year. The only thing they struggle with? Teamwork and drama.

- MC is the last vampire left. They goes to a bar every night and bring home another person every night. They drink from the humans then drops them off at a nearby park when they are finished. What happens when MC brings home another vampire instead of a human one night?
- MC needs a miracle, and they meet one too! Who knew miracles were actually beings and not just something that happens? MC makes a bad first impression when their miracle shows up to help them out.
- MC is a compulsive liar, unable to stop themselves from spinning tales that make them the envy of everyone around them. Then they wake up one day to discover that their lies have all come true…

When a deceased human hand with a sinister note attached to it is the only thing in the capsule, questions start to buzz. The first being, who is the person who wrote the note? Oddly enough, the note is written in MC’s handwriting…with their signature…dated 82 years before they were even born.
- A new town, a new job, a new life. MC moved away to start over and become someone they’ve always wanted to be. The problem? They just can’t seem to stop killing people.
- MC’s significant other has always talked in their sleep; it’s nothing new. But when their voice changes and their words take a dark turn, MC can’t help but do some digging into why that is…and they don’t like what they find.

In fact, in the video, they approach the camera, smirk, and walk away with a wave before disappearing for nearly the entire night.
- When the Internet was first invented, warnings of sharing your personal information were everywhere. Now MC knows why. Cyber information is being used to frame innocents in extreme crime cases.

It’s everything MC could want…and then they meet the person who pays thousands for their portrait. Now their roommate is hardly on their mind.
- MC decides to take a vacation for themselves to a secluded little town in order to figure out what to do with their life after college. Little did they know that this small town could house so much of what they’re really looking for in life – including a hottie who happens to be staying at your hotel.
