Put behind furniture

I see characters go behind or in front of objects that look like the background. How is that possible? I know you can’t overlay everything right.

you can make an overlay out of the background, and then put it in the scene.

wouldn’t you just be on top of the overlay once you layer?

you have to layer them, so for items or people in the back use
@CHARACTER moves to layer -2 (or any number)
and if you want them in the front use
@CHARACTER moves to layer 2 (or any number)
if you need to do it for an overlay subsitiute CHARCATER with OVERLAY

Then you layer it behind the overlay.
Eg:

@overlay DESK moves to layer 2
@CHARACTER moves to layer 1

to piggy back, making overlays is pretty easy. I use photoshop (because i’ve purchased it for work) but a good free option is https://ipiccy.com/ If you download the background you’re using, then put a vector mask over the funiture you want, making overlays can look just as clean and professional as expensive software :slight_smile:

Thank you for your help. I have photoshop and I tried the copy and paste method with making overlays.
