Question about Copyright with Ads

So I saw in a cover art tutorial that you can use ad screenshots. On my FYP on insta, there were some ads for the interactive game “choices”.

I saw potential.
I took a screenshot of the pic, edited hair colors, skintones, made a fancy title etc.

Question is. Did I just use a copyrighted pic? Coz it was an ad. I heard that I was allowed, but I want to make sure

Yes that is a copyright violation, you can use ads made by Episode for Episode story covers, but you can’t use assets from ads that appear on the Episode, they belong to their copyright holders.
