I don’t want to give credit to someone in my story for a template (even though they said credit isn’t required).
If anyone asks or compliments me for it, then I would tell them thank you, but it actually isn’t my work (and maybe to go follow the real creator).
Is that wrong?
I don’t know why, I feel like my script is just “better” without it.
Not that it makes me look better, it just “feels” better. I know, it’s weird
I think that if you don’t want to give credit and the person also said you don’t have to, it’s perfectly fine to do so. If anyone asks about it, say the same
saying thank u when someone compliments u for smth u didn’t do, is claiming their work as ur own. that is wrong, they could’ve spent hrs on that. when they say u don’t need to credit, i recommend u do, bc that’s what a decent person does. n if u don’t for whatever reason, at least b decent enough to admit u didn’t create it ! not attacking u at all, we’ve all done or considered doing this before…
I would thank them for saying that they like it and then proceed to tell them that it isn’t my own work.
Then I would suggest that they check out the creator’s drive / Instagram handle.
I wouldn’t just say thank you and leave it at that
I think if credit isn’t required then it’s fine. Personally, I still give credit anyways but that’s up to you if it isn’t required. If you feel like your script looks better without it in the specific scene, you could just add credit to the end of the episode like I do.
And as long as you tell someone who compliments it that it isn’t your work and you don’t claim it, then that’s perfectly fine too.
I mean if the creator stated that you technically don’t need to then you don’t need to but not every creator is going to be like that. You are going to have to give credit to many creators as you get templates, bg’s etc. So you might as well get into the habit of crediting creators who spend time on just that one piece of work. It takes stress, time and creativity to create something for someone. I don’t see how it that bad to credit people in a simple speech bubble at the end. And if you want to make it aesthetically pleasing then you can use overlays with their @.
Is it wrong to not want to give credit to a creator who doesn’t want it or said they don’t need it? No, I don’t think it is, but crediting them would be a courtesy.
Is it wrong to not want to give credit to a creator who wants credit? Yes, absolutely.
