Ok, so I don’t know if I am the only one who pays attention to the miscellaneous lists on the episode app.
There is a list of recently update stories that are only supposed to contain stories that are updated within the last 30 days that are approved by episode.
I have a couple of stories that are on that list (or were) and they just dropped off, now it seems to me after watching the list for a few weeks that it has turned into just another popular author list regardless of how recently they were updated. I am wondering if anyone else has also noticed this?

I update weekly and have never seen myself on that list. I agree that it is likely only full of popular authors.

it’s irritating, right? like how many trending lists do they need to be on?

Yes there’s this one story I see on almost every single shelf. (It definitely deserves it I’m a big fan and it’s an amazing story called The Big Oh) but I still think episode could do more to help new authors.

Frankly what pisses me off the most about it, both my stories Rock My World and Motorcycle Club were on that list for a while, I constantly updated them the last time I updated Rock My World it was in the last spot for an hour before it dropped off, both of those stories being on that list actually got me a decent amount of regular reads which would allow the story to trend in it’s genre, ever since I have updated both of them they haven’t shown up on that list again, nor do they get regular reads. I don’t know why a story has to trend on multiple lists, it seems to take away a spot for a story to be able to get recongition regardless it its mine or someone elses.

I also get frustrated by it honestly and I can’t do much about it. All I can do is stay consistent and keep writing and hope to get recognition for my work. I’ve definitely seen your stories around the app likely on the recently updated list. I’ll go check them out now!

Agree So I dont know how often she updates. but Married to the mob is always on the list. I never open it and it not being there.

I will have to disagree on that. I had my 3 days old story appear on the recently updated shelf and I only had 80 reads at the time. I’ve seen quite a few stories under 50K reads stay and leave from that shelf. Yes, there are some popular authors over there but it’s because they update every single week. I won’t name the author that’s on there rn. But she’s literally updating every single week. sometimes in less than two with double updates etc. The reason I think not a lot of stories make it up there (even if they qualify and have been reviewed) could be retention (?) I am not 100% sure about it. OR I’ve noticed it has a limited number of stories up there or else it would become too chaotic.

I agree with you that there are stories that are brand new with less reads, but if it does have to do with retention than it isn’t really a recently updated list of user stories. it is a recently updated list of popular stories with some random ones thrown in.
