Remembering Clothes Choices

Hey guys,

Out of curiosity, did I do this right for remembering outfits? Or do I need to add the dialog in the if, elif, else

@speechbubble is 210 271 to 100% with tail_top_left
TAYLOR (talk_think_neutral)
(lets get ready.)
@speechbubble reset

@zoom on 122 139 to 176% in 2

label dressing_game_1

    TAYLOR (think_rubchin)
What do I want to wear?

choice (TAYLOR_SCHOOL 1)
“TAYLOR_SCHOOL 1” {
@TAYLOR changes into TAYLOR_SCHOOL 1

@speechbubble is 156 362 to 100% with tail_top_left
TAYLOR (talk_think_neutral)
(Is this what I want to wear?)
@speechbubble reset

@TAYLOR is idle_handsonhips_neutral_loop

@pause for a beat

} “TAYLOR_SCHOOL2” {
@TAYLOR changes into TAYLOR_SCHOOL2

@speechbubble is 156 362 to 100% with tail_top_left
TAYLOR (talk_think_neutral)
(I like this one.)
@speechbubble reset

@TAYLOR is idle_handsonhips_neutral_loop

@pause for a beat

} “TAYLOR_SCHOOL 3” {
@TAYLOR changes into TAYLOR_SCHOOL 3

@speechbubble is 156 362 to 100% with tail_top_left
TAYLOR (talk_think_neutral)
(This is cute.)
@speechbubble reset

@TAYLOR is idle_handsonhips_neutral_loop

@pause for a beat
}

@speechbubble is 156 362 to 100% with tail_top_left
TAYLOR (think_rubchin)
Do I want to wear this one?

choice
“It’s perfect!” {

    TAYLOR (selfie_phone)
I look amazing

} “No, I want to try on the others!” {
goto dressing_game_1
}

if (outfit01 is “TAYLOR_SCHOOL2”){

@TAYLOR changes into TAYLOR_SCHOOL 1

} elif (outfit01 is “TAYLOR_SCHOOL2”){

@TAYLOR changes into TAYLOR_SCHOOL2

} else {

@TAYLOR changes into TAYLOR_SCHOOL 3
}

Hey! I think you need to name the choice the same as “outfit01”
Like :
choice (outfit01)

I’m sorry what.

You named your choice (TAYLOR_SCHOOL 1), but in your if/elif/else template you named it “outfit01”. If you want teh if/elif/else template to recognize the choice, you must name them the same.
Ex:
choice (outfit01)
“Outfit 1”{
@CHARACTER changes into OUTFIT 1
}“Outfit 2”{
@CHARACTER changes into OUTFIT 2
}“Outfit 3”{
@CHARACTER changes into OUTFIT 3
}

if (outfit01 is “Outfit 1”){
}elif (Outfit01 is “Outfit 2”){
}else{
}
I hope you understand :))

Oh. Can I just change the “outfit1” to the Taylor_school 1 and so one

Yes, exactly, but don’t forget to put the capital letters if so!:))

then do I need to add my script in each outfit remembering

lol yup.

I’m not sure to understand what you you mean? But you don’t have to put the "Outfit game template/ in each time you use the "remembering template.

I was reading some stuff online and it said to add your script in each the if changes elif changes and else. wan’t sure if that was true or not

meaning you story script if that makes sense

of that chapter

Ummm. I’m not an expert, I’m still kind of new here… but when I do dressing games, I do:
NARRATOR
What to you want to wear?
choice (OUTFIT1)
“Choice 1”{
@CHARACTER changes into CHOICE 1
}“Choice 2”{
@CHARACTER changes into CHOICE 2
}
Then I do the remembering template
if (OUTFIT1 is “Choice 1”){
@CHARACTER changes into CHOICE 1
}else{
@CHARACTER changes into CHOICE 2
}
This is what I do
Since the name of your choice won’t change, the remembering template is good whenever you want. And you don’t have to put the dressing game template in your script. Which means you only put the remembering template when you want your character to change into what they chose previously.

Sorry if you don’t understand my english, it’s not my first language…
I really hope you understand :relaxed:

ok. thanks your english is better than mine and i’m from America lol so dont worry about it thanks for clearing that up. im new myself.

Your welcome!:))

Dara Amalie has really good templates for dressing games! I’m just starting too and using her guides and templates is a MASSIVE help!

I actually got this one from a comment she posted on for someone else. Just wanted to make sure I did it right. That’s where I get everything lol
