But if you bought it, I didnā€™t see Liz said anywhere that you need to delete it. So I wonā€™t say anything about this matter until Liz clearifice this.

the main problem is that there have been many people profiting off of ā€œcustom backgroundsā€ that contain episode backgrounds, therefore episode deems it as copyright. however, i believe people can still make and distribute backgrounds, they just canā€™t make money off of it which is fair. thereā€™ve jus been a lot of rumours going around i guess. idk tbh

That make sense. I mean someone spent their time on create all these things. And I wouldnā€™t like it if someone edited my work claimed it as their own and then sell it to earn moneyā€¦ If they gave the money to me sureā€¦ But Otherwise i wouldnā€™t like it at all

I believe that itā€™s only fair to us and to them who sell,
to tag them here and explain them without attacking! Theyā€™re our friends, donā€™t forget that.

But if we see that someone sells stuff with Episode assets, we should not be afraid to ask them publicly for reasoning.

Because if we donā€™t do that, in few months we will talk about same things again, because some will forget this rule and new writers (and editors!!) wonā€™t know or understand.

If sellers are only on Instagram, we shall copy Lizā€™s text there and tag them.

This is the only way to help them and us.

I just dont get it why would people want to use someone else work use it as their own and sell it? Its stealing and you can get in trouble for stealingā€¦

Thank you for explaining this.
However, the backgrounds that are available for all users are very old and theyā€™re not enough to use for every single scene we want to write, if you are going to prevent us from using hidden backgrounds then at least give us new backgrounds or release the hidden ones for us.
Also @Liz, what about the stories that contain hidden backgrounds and are already released?

I donā€™t know. I make backgrounds for quite some time. All this time I was also against giving me any credits, because I didnā€™t draw them, only edited, so I donā€™t find myself being artist for doing that.

But lately I realize that giving credits maybe is not so bad, because that will maybe lead to more recognition and my stories will finally have some reads :joy:

But why some ask for being payed for custom backgrounds they make? I have no clue. :woman_shrugging:t4::joy:

You can use bunch of created and edited backgrounds! Check forum, many do them. So thereā€™s no need to desperately need hidden backgrounds at all.
