Running problems

I am fairly new to writing on episode but this problem has happened many times.
I want my character to run to a spot with another character so i use the
&CHARACTER 1 walks to spot x x x AND CHARACTER1 does it while run_neutral
&CHARACTER2 walks to spot xxx AND CHARACTER2 does it while run_cry.

when this happens they slide on with the the animation i ask them to do next

I then tried @ instead of & to change them from coming on at different times and they slid on

The only time i can get them to walk on naturally is without “does it while”

If anyone understands can you please help me xxx

just put and Char is run_neutral

@CHARACTER 1 walks to spot x x x AND CHARACTER1 is run_neutral

If you want them to do it at the same time
@CHARACTER 1 walks to spot x x x AND CHARACTER1 is run_neutral AND CHARACTER 2 walks to spot x x x AND CHARACTER1 is while run_neutral

You should always use “does it while” when making a character walk while doing an animation. Use the @ sign for the second character, and then time them
