Scene before transition

So every time I use a transition between scenes the scene will flash up then the ‘in’ transition happens. Sometimes this will sort itself out on the app but recently it just hasn’t.
E.g.
CHAR
Bla bla bla.

@transition fade out black 2

INT. SCENE

@CHAR stands screen center

@transition fade in black 2

The scene will flash up then you see the transition

You have to use a & on everything before you add the fade in transition

I’ve tried using & but I still get the same result most of the time
Let me check anyway
