so… that time of year when our brains all get fried is coming soon. honestly i’m terrified and of going back to that hell hole for another whole 9 months
so do y’all have any tips on how to not die in there? i need this
You’ll be fine. Just try your best and it will be over before you know it. At least you’ve got breaks in between!
@cecilia_do don’t pressure you’re self you will survive once you get credits and grade and work in you’re good to go
Avoid people as often as possible
Specially the mean ones and try to make to your seat partner a friend so if you feel bored you can talk to them
I literally do the same every year.
You mean physical classes?
School is a really tough time for everyone! I personally think the most important thing is not to put too much pressure on yourself if some days all you can give is the bare minimum then that’s okay!! You still did your best. I know it’s hard to believe in the moment but high school grades really aren’t that important in the grand scheme of things. They help you get into certain schools and scholarships but that’s about it and even if you don’t make it into your dream school there are ALWAYS others options and you will be okay. Don’t be afraid to seek help whether that’s for mental health or academic services. People tend to think asking for help is a personal failure but that’s not true at all!! It’s a form of self love. And you don’t have to be failing to seek help, you can seek out a tutor or whatever other resources you may need and have an A, maybe you’re just struggling with one topic or one paper, that’s valid! Please remember to put yourself first. You are always more important than your schoolwork and it is okay to prioritize some work over others. You don’t have to do perfect on every assignment. Manage your energy if you try to give your 100% on every single assignment you will burn out which is not good for your mental health or overall performance. no one is made to perform their best for such long periods of time, you will run out of gas. Just remember you are what’s most important! And you will not ruin your future just by not running yourself into the ground. You are worth so much more than grades or academic performance and you deserve to be happy healthy no matter what!
Some days can feel extremely overwhelming and during those times i find it helps to take deep breath, walk away from your work, do something that calms you (go for a short walk, listen to music, maybe just lay in in bed and do nothing whatever calms you down personally) and then when you’re ready to come back set small goals. Worry about just getting through that one day and tomorrow you can worry about getting through tomorrow. Worry about finishing just one assignment and then you can worry about the others. Sitting there stressing will not help you get any work done. It is almost always better to just walk away for a moment. and don’t forget to reward yourself after accomplishing those tasks. You finished one assignment? That’s awesome! Celebrate that accomplishment whether it just be telling yourself you did good or a more physical reward like playing thirty minutes of your favorite game or allowing your self a treat. You got through the day? Be proud of yourself!
If your teachers seem understanding don’t be afraid to ask for more time! In my experience as long as you aren’t asking the night before teachers have been fairly open to extending deadlines, although there are always sticklers that won’t. Just be open about the fact that you’re struggling most teachers want you to succeed especially when they can see that you are trying your best, although every school and every teacher is different. It still does not hurt to ask!
School is a nightmare LOL! Kidding! But it’s quite hard, for me I’m having online sessions which is pretty really hard… But all I gotta say is that don’t pressure yourself with the assignments and stuff, I’ll say a tip you can just spend like 1 hour in studies, do your favorite things and start back with studies again! And I’m pretty sure teachers won’t pressure a lot!
So true! You say kidding but i know for me personally it was a nightmare. But i made it through even though some days i didn’t feel like i would. I think people in general put way too much pressure on themselves when it comes to academics
Ah! yes! It’s a nightmare lol It’s been 2 years since I last went to school or met my besties!
