Hey guys! I don’t know why I’m getting this error. I’ve tried reloading the page, logging back into the portal but it hasn’t worked. Whenever I try to look at my scene in the episode app it just takes me out of the app completely. Can anyone help me out?
I think it’s the app itself, your coding seems fine to me. It’s just the app. Hm…everyone will get this often on the writers portal, all I did was either refresh the page, or come out episode portal then go back in, or type something in the script and save it. Hm for the app, I just come out of it, or wait for it to stop crashing. Maybe send a ticket to episode.
I’ve experience this issue couple months ago I switched to Internet Explorer and it worked but when I tried to go back to using chrome w/ episode the same thing happened so I think it’s chrome that’s acting up.
That makes sense to me! But what’s weird is that I’m currently only getting that error with the coding that I sent. Do you know how I can switch to internet explorer? I’m using a Chromebook so idk how I’ll be able to use internet explorer since it’s prob not compatible.(And a separate thing, but when I try to preview a scene, it shows the scene that’s AFTER it. Do yk why that is?)
Can you further explain the last part. Cause for me it would just show up black nothing at all and after a couple weeks of using IE I tried again on chrome I was able to type up my script & save it yet when I preview the story it still gave me errors.
And hmm I see where that may be tricky see if u can download fire fox or internet explorer on your Chromebook.
And believe there’s a way you can check if you have the latest Chrome version installed. You would have to YT or Google it tho.
When i try to preview the first scene, it shows the second scene instead in my preview. And it also shows the readermessage of the first scene in the second scene which makes no sense
do you know how i can check?
I don’t sorry.
I understand what you mean unfortunately I don’t have an answer on why it’s doing that, for safety I would copy the entire episode and paste it in a Google doc for later access and check my chrome
Extension , reboot my computer or try downloading a different browser.
Also if u can or feel comfortable you can send me the link of your story and I can see how it looks on a mobile device.
alright, im editing a lot of things so it wont really make sense if thats ok
That’s fine! You can PM it.
Download Google Chrome, I’m using that and it’s working for me. Don’t use internet explorer anymore. ![]()
Click on the first scene that you’re trying to preview, make sure to save then refresh the page. Hm…
I did that actually ![]()
I’ve never used internet explorer I’ve always used chrome
It might be the app then, send a support ticket to the team, explaining in FULL DETAIL on what’s going on. I hope they give u a good answer. Hmmm
I’m now getting this error:

You don’t have anything to stop it going immediately to the second scene. The reader message isn’t affected by scene changes.
The scene jumping is because readerMessages are like notifications pop-ups, the system just flashes it on screen and continues the script.
If you want it to stop so people can read and see that scene, add @pause for # of seconds like pause for 5 (the length of seconds that a reader message stays on screen)
OR you can erase the readermessage and do
NARRATOR
Background and overlays by @/persons-name on IG!
The narrator bubble will pop up and the scene won’t shift until the reader taps the screen to move on.
As far as the odd portal error, try Mozilla Firefox (you can download it with a simple search for “mozilla firefox”.) Install and log in there. – or Edge or Chrome- whatever one you aren’t using now.
