Shading tips for ibispaint x 🥲?

anyone have any tips or suggestions for shading on ibispaint x? right now i use pretty light shading but it either looks too dark and off tone or too light :smiley::smiley:
here’s the most recent thing I drew and you can see how I shaded the bare minimum

I suggest you use more than one color for shading and highlights. Try to make some shadows too. <3

This of where the light source is coming from, and what shadows that would cause, and the high points of the face, tip of nose, chin, highlight areas will be highlighted to stand out.

And like @/gen.c.epsd said, don’t just use one colour to shade with, use progressively darker tones to get it more accurate :))

Using different colors/setting layers really helps!

For example, make a new layer, select the base tone and set that new layer to “Multiply”. Then, lower the opacity of the airbrush tool, and size the airbrush to a medium-small size and it creates a darker shadow/shading of the face.
