I’m from Greece and I definitely recommend Baklava, galatoboureko and tsoureki

The US’s pastries are mostly based off other cultures since we are a ‘melting pot’ of cultures and ethnicities from around the world, but these are some classic American baked goods: Apple pie, Pecan Pie, Strawberry Shortcake, pineapple upside-down cake, Monkey Breads, New York style cheesecake (baked, unlike other cheesecakes that are chilled to set instead- also in my opinion better :joy: but I’m probably biased on that. ) Oh, and Banana Bread.

Only heard about baklava, might as well educate myself what the others are❤️

Want to do pecan pie badly, however in Germany they are expensive so it’s smth I need to prepare myself for
(Ps love the baked cheesecake therefore I only bake mine, so u ain’t biased xd )

You could proabably do the strawberry shortcake for relatively cheap and it’s a lighter cake

My mother could barely boil water when I was a kid so every cheesecake was the boxed Jello brand cheesecake in a store bought crust. :joy: So, as an adult, I love cooking and baking for myself.

I bake from time to time, and it’s a little difficult to which I like best. Though, I’ll say that I’m partial to chocolate mint cake.
