Should I add CC in my story?

This is a tricky subject because CC does pull in readers but here is the thing.
My story is based on an African-Indian MC and an Asian LI and my story is not fully but has lots of diversity in it. My fear is that if I am adding CC, I am losing the ethnic past my MCs have. Sure, I could do limited CC but what if they choose features that don’t tie on the vision I have on the characters? I would love y’all to help me because a girl is confused.

Do limited CC and only include the features that fit the character, that’s what I did in my story, for example I only added hair styles that fit the characters personality or didn’t give the option to change the eye shape of my asian characters.

Great idea! I feel like doing that will still preserve the ethnic background of my character! Know any limited CC templates?

I think you can ask @Dara.Amarie to help you with that? I’m not sure, but in a lot of stories I’ve seen some of the credits say “made in collaboration with Dara Amarie” and they have locked features? Hope this helps! :blob_hearts: Good luck with your story!

No problem! I also completely agree with @MTB on the subject of limited CC - a character’s past is important in any story, and it’s really crucial you don’t lose it! ignore my cringiness… Again, I wish you all the best with your story! :blob_hearts: :blob_hearts:

I think to drop the lmitied cc. it wont keep the readers who will only read if it have cc anyway. so might as well dont.

Interesting… you are right, it won’t keep the reader.

Yes, this is also true…I do admit sometimes it can be annoying for any reader (including me) to miss out on full CC because it feels like we don’t really have much control (for me, anyway!)! It’s really your choice, and it also depends on what you’re writing the story for

It is still preferred over no CC at all, when I asked my readers if they did CC my MC’s more than half did it while the others left them as they were so I think it’s a nice option for them to have.

Oh I could also give them the option to have CC or not!

Exactly, that’s what I did too.

No problem! Make sure to tell me when your story is out… (or tell me the name if it is out!)

Yep maybe limited CC or none at all

that is a thing I kinda think is a good idea. tell them looks matter.

I have full CC but also art scenes. and tell that before cc. even before I let them pick the name. because I have often left a story their first tell me looks matter after.

Good idea! LOL I don’t have much to say except I am writing down what y’all are sayin.

Put limited CC. I think that’s best.

I wrote a story similar before with characters whose backgrounds was a big part of the story (2 siblings of one ethnicity, and an additional character with a different ethnicity). I let them pick 1 character out of 3 to CC, and gave them the option to go back and change the character they CC’d at the end of ch 1. my thought was that after reading through the first chapter and realizing it was kind of weird to have siblings that looked opposite, they’d go back and make them similar. idk if this fits your situation, but it was sort of a middle ground with the whole CC deal :woman_shrugging:t4:
