I’m currently doing commissions and some people take in EU or $ So idk which currency to use (I’m in EU)
I’d do $, only because I know more people who pay in dollars than I do in EU (:
I prefer dollars as I am pretty comfortable with it. The reason I am comfortable is because I always keep a track of the price of 1$ in my currency so I know the prices went up or down. Also $ sounds more cheap in my currency than € or £
do u then charge the prices a bit if its in dollars?
I would recommend charging in your own currency. Especially if you’re going to be using PayPal, as currency exchange requires a fee. Not only that, but exchange rates mean that some will be less for you then others and vice versa.
I used to charge in my currency, it isn’t hard for people to transfer that into their currency and see if it is in their price range, it’s what I do with dollars lol.
(You could even list the price in a variety of currencies on your price list, but be sure to make it clear which you will be accepting)
I accept United States dollar since it’s international currency plus most of my client’s are either from the US or UK so it isn’t a problem for them.
One of the reasons why I prefer USD is because it’s affordable for both people from Europe and UK.
However Euro or GBP might be expensive for the people from US.
