Hi all. I really need some help coming to a decision. I am wondering if I should discontinue and stop writing my story published on episode. It has been up for about 2 months now and I don’t even have 40 reads. I have promoted and done several r4r and nothing has come from it. Let me know what you think. Thank you!!

No don’t stop! It’s normal to not get a lot of reads at the start, my stories been up for over 2 months and I only have 18 reads, and that includes R4R’s as well. It takes time but you can’t give up! What’s your story name? I’ll try to promote it on my instagram!

I think it depends on how you feel about the story itself. Do you really love the story? Do you feel like it’s apart of you? Is this story more important to you than other stories or vice versa? Did you write the story more for yourself or for readers? Did you write it solely for the purpose of writer payments or just because you enjoy writing?
Sometimes it’s best to let go of stories that you aren’t overly attached to because you may lose motivation, passion and purpose for them, and sometimes it’s best to keep going with stories that have a deep place in your heart because it’s a source of happiness and inspiration irrespective of reads.

As a small author myself…I failed so many times and I am telling you…I wanted to discontinue my story as well but…my friends were there to support me and encourage me writing so I didn’t give up and I am so thankful for the decision I made because rn I almost have 1k reads from my story!
All you need to have is 
patience .
BELIEVE ME EVERYTHING WILL FALL IN PLACE
Don’t lose hope and keep working hard!!! I know you are amazing 
and we all know true success comes from patience

Honestly speaking, you should think what’s your purpose for writing Episode 
Do you do it because you enjoy it? Of course getting lots of views is nice, but what’s your main purpose? Is it a hobby etc.?
If you do Episode because you enjoy it, then nope! Don’t give it up If you have fun creating and writing stories then don’t let any low amount of reads discourage you because you’re writing mainly for yourself Even if you’re a small author by the end, it’s 100% something to be proud of for completing you story and getting as far as you have! I also agree with most things said above by others.
However, if you aren’t writing your story because you enjoy it but more because your main purpose is to get reads (like said above, reads is nice, but it depends if that’s your main purpose or not) then it’s most likely best to discontinue it as @/schittwriter said.
To end it off with a lighter note, regardless of which path you decide to choose, it was wonderful and courageous of you to take the step to publish your story in the first place! Don’t lose hope by lack of reads and just take it slow ((: You’re a great person and writer and reads don’t determine that
