Should I introduce the Love interest in the first chapter?

I’m not quite writing yet but I was wondering if introducing the LI in the first chapter is too soon. What are your thoughts? Is it too soon or just the right time?

Hi! Welcome to the community! I would personally introduce the LI somewhere in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd chapter, but certainly not later. :relaxed::purple_heart:

I don’t really think about WHEN to introduce, more like HOW to introduce them. But I think it’s fine to introduce them in the first chapter, just as long it’s done well. And by well I mean not saying ”this is the love interest” not that anyone actually does that and like the introducing is fluent with the script.

But also later on is fine too. Just not too late.
