As a small author myself, I’m not really sure why other authors put skip the wait etc in their stories. I guess to each their own but I would prefer to have someone power read my story then have to wait to read it. I am wondering other’s opinion on this matter.

I don’t use it in my story and I also don’t like it. I’d rather spend gems on bonus scenes and author support.

I get why they do it, but for my story personally I wouldn’t because I’m the person that loves to find a complete story and just binge read.

I like the one where you wait to read a chapter that hasn’t technically been released yet, I hate the one that makes you wait 6 hours every few chapters. I’ll absolutely pay gems to read a chapter that isn’t technically out yet, but when I see a story that’s complete, I want to binge-read and I can’t do that if I have to wait a few hours every 2 chapters.

Tbh whenever there’s a “skip the wait” I usually end up forgetting about the story and never going back to it, unless there’s like 1 or 2 hours of wait time, and that’s exactly why I don’t add it to my story and probably never will, but that’s my opinion

I hear ya, I was reading a story as a challenge for my book club and I was power reading it 10 chapters then I finally got to chapter 15 and there is a 4 day wait, there are only 2 days left in the challenge time, I probably won’t end up finishing it even though I was getting into it.
