Some questions for readers!

Hiya I’m currently in the process of writing a story but I have some questions. I love it if you could help me with answers! :blob_hearts:

1. How long do you think an individual episode should be?

2. Would you read a story with more that one MC? Why? Why not?

3. What do you look for in an LI?

4. Would you read a story in spotlight? Why? Why not?

5. What features do you look for in a story? CC, Points System ect.

6. And finally, what things do you not like to see in a story, coding and plot wise?

It would mean a lot to me if you helped me answer these questions. Thank you for taking time if you do! :blob_hearts:

All these answers are personal opinions

1. How long do you think an individual episode should be?
Around 10 minutes. More and I’ll get bored (unless the story is reaaaally good)

2. Would you read a story with more that one MC? Why? Why not?
Of course! If the story is well written, it doesn’t matter

3. What do you look for in a LI?
Nothing specific, but they shouldn’t be “bad” (e.g. bad boy)

4. Would you read a story in cinematic? Why? Why not?
Yes :woman_shrugging:
Again, if well written, it doesn’t matter

5. What features do you look for in a story? CC, Points System ect.
Since it’s an interactive game, some choices. Everything else is a good addition

6. And finally, what things do you not like to see in a story, coding and plot wise?
Misrepresented cultures/minority, repeated grammatical mistakes, having to cc everyone, female characters too short and male characters too tall…

  1. 500-2000 lines no longer than 10-15 minutes
  2. Defintely
  3. STRONG, INDEPENDENT
  4. If it’s written nicely, I won’t care but I highly prefer the regular type.
  5. Don’t really care lol just gotta be good.
  6. Grammar errors are a huge turn off for me. Bad coding and weird ways of trying to make the story diverse.

1. How long do you think an individual episode should be?
I prefer longer episodes, 15-30 minutes, but I think most people prefer 10-15 minute episodes. Also, I think the episode should have as many scenes as make the episode feel right (as long as it’s at least 5 minutes). I don’t like when an episode is drawn out to be 20 or 30 minutes, but it half of it could easily be cut out.

2. Would you read a story with more that one MC? Why? Why not?
Of course! It doesn’t matter to me as long as there’s good grammar, directing, plot, characters.

3. What do you look for in an LI?
They should be sweet and care about the MC.

4. Would you read a story in cinematic? Why? Why not?
Uh, cinematic is the normal format and spotlight is when they’re in the bubbles. Anyway, yeah! Most stories are in cinematic. But I will not read a spotlight story.

5. What features do you look for in a story? CC, Points System etc.
Honestly, I don’t care much, there should just be good grammar, directing, plot, characters. However, I do prefer stories where there’s CC, points systems, choices matter, and minigames.

6. And finally, what things do you not like to see in a story, coding and plot wise?
Bad grammar (not capitalizing the first letter of sentences and I, no punctuation, slang, acronyms: idk, brb, gtg, etc.) and bad directing (as in many basic repeated errors: characters popping in, characters not doing animations, characters gliding, bad layering, no spot directing, etc.). Obviously, although it’s annoying, it’s totally fine if some of these happen a few times. However, if there are too many mistakes either with grammar or directing, I will stop reading immediately.
Plot wise, I hate when the LI is abusive and rude to the MC, but she falls for him anyway. Also, stockholm syndrome. And also, mafia. Don’t do any of these things.

10 - 15 minutes is my personal preference

it really depends on the plot! if it’s good, i wouldn’t mind there being more than one MC at all, just don’t go overboard with overwhelming the reader with tons of MC to remember lol

just someone who isn’t a prick lol (enemies to lovers are fine thoe)

i would, sometimes writers are stronger in story telling than coding, so i always give it a try :))

i don’t have a specific choice; i enjoy all types. even if your story had 0 CC and 0 choices (a very visual based story), i’d still read it :))

grammatical errors are definitely a big one. other than that extremely simple directing with too much description (ex. too many narrator bubbles talking about the surroundings etc.). i believe that episode is meant to be a visual app, something extremely different from things you see on wattpad (this is entirely my opinion; i don’t mean hate on those who still use simple directing!! you do you )

My opinion!

1. How long do you think an individual episode should be?
I think an individual episode should be at least 10 minutes long. Any less, and I feel like it’s too short. But, I’d prefer an episode to be about 15 minutes long.

2. Would you read a story with more that one MC? Why? Why not?
Yes! I think it can be better in the sense of both the two MC plots are equally entertaining.

3. What do you look for in an LI?
I feel like when you first start a story, the love interest shouldn’t be automatically attracted to the MC right away. Stories with LI’s are more entertaining when they aren’t easily going to end up together (in my opinion.)

4. Would you read a story in cinematic? Why? Why not?
Probably not. I really only like LL stories (sometimes ink.)

5. What features do you look for in a story? CC, Points System ect.
I look for a good amount of zooms, well thought out dialogue and good character plots.

6. And finally, what things do you not like to see in a story, coding and plot wise?
I don’t really like bad punctuation, grammar, bad transitions, disappearing characters and massive difference in height. Plot wise, I don’t really like when a story is very cliche. It’s okay if it’s only a little, but sometimes it can get to be too much.

Yeah sorry I accidentally put cinematic instead of spotlight lol.

  1. 10-15 minutes max
  2. I would, it’s interesting and you can see both point of views
  3. I don’t really mind, it depends on the story
  4. I don’t mind
5.I like cc, mini games and choices but if a story is good and they don’t have these things, that’s fine.
  5. Author introductions where the author is like “this is my first story so my coding might not be good”
And also I don’t like long intros and outros
    And plot wise, mafia stories.

1. How long do you think an individual episode should be?
Anything 10-20 minutes of reading time, preferably around 15

2. Would you read a story with more that one MC? Why? Why not?
I would - and why - because it’s not about the amount of MC but about how well is the story itself written

3. What do you look for in an LI?
Hmm… honestly it doesn’t much matter if it is greatly written character - sweet shy guy can be lovable as a strong male lead if it’s written well

4. Would you read a story in the spotlight? Why? Why not?
Ammm…honestly no I would not unsles it would be recommended to me as a really great story.if it would be just random story the spotlight would be turn of for me… I don’t like it it seems to me too simplified and while I like advanced directing there is not much to be advanced in spotlight

5. What features do you look for in a story? CC, Points System ect.
I am not much into features - I like advanced directing but the most important is great storytelling, great writing, great characters nd great plot.

6. And finally, what things do you not like to see in a story, coding and plot wise?
I don’t read mafia stories its in my opinion bit sick to on and on romantize criminals. Im probably picky but bad directing is big turn of too. Ah and the authors intro whith is eather trying to be funny or saying its my first story so its not really good atc…like why shoud anybody read story about even author thinks its not so great… But worst it bad writing…some (usually begginer) writers usually rush the story and have flat characters or unlogical plot twists or its simply boring atc. I must say the more I write myself the more picky I am in this. :flushed: :woman_facepalming:

I personally like longer episodes, so I feel like I get the most out of a pass. I like 15 mins or more!

Yeah, ofc! The plot is what matters.

Someone funny & smooth & sarcastic. Someone that is affectionate & caring, but doesn’t show it easily. Someone that complements the MC, but doesn’t complete them (bc no one is less than whole!)

no, not unless there was a LOT of description/narration & a very good plot

cc, choices that matter, slow-burns, descriptive language, decent directing & a complex plot!

choppy directing, no cc, too many cliches, rushed plot, too many stereotypes

omg i so agree with the customizing everyone. It’s best if people can either use the change your family code, or have limited cc so they all look the same anyways.
