Someone please help me fade these characters

hello, i need help can someone please help me out? i need two characters to be faded but i have no idea how to fade them here’s the script i would appreciate the help.

INT. PROM STAGE - DAY
@transition fade in white
@zoom on 326 85 to 111% in 0
@YTOM spot 0.955 173 134 in zone 1 and YDAYA spot 0.889 241 150 in zone 1 and YTOM faces right and YDAYA faces left

You’ll need to upload the background as an overlay. Place it at a higher layer than your characters and set it’s opacity at 0.5
