Ok guys, I think it’s time to focus a little more on the music options that the portal provides us with. I personally find it equally important to the clothing options and the background choices, as music and sounds set the mood for a scene and, ultimately, an entire story.
Especially regarding genres such as comedy and thriller/horror, I think that variety in music tracks is more than necessary because in my experience as a reader and a creator, the appropriate music can help immerse the reader fully into a scene and enjoy the story as a whole.
Now, onto the title of the topic, how about this project began with the addition of some Christmas music? It is a popular holiday (if not the most popular worldwide) and I know I LOVE reading stories (and listening to songs lol) set during Christmas all year around so I think stories that focus around this holiday could definitely use some fitting music other than the classics all stories use.
Another innovative and SUPER useful asset would be the ability to upload our own sounds/music in the portal, the same way we can upload customised backgrounds and overlays - although I acknowledge that such an addition to the portal would consume A LOT of review time from the official Episode team and would cause delays in the review of BGs &OLs - so it’s, again, just an idea I’m throwing on the table for the future. Until something like that is considered, simply adding new music to the already existing list of sounds would be a gift sent from above honestly.
I know not everyone considers music an important aspect of a story, but if you’re looking to read and/or create a decent and enjoyable story (especially in certain genres as mentioned above), I believe that the right soundtrack is what captures the reader and enhances the overall experience. I mean, if I’m being honest, there are a bunch of movies and TV shows I liked only bc of the soundtrack.
What do you guys think?
