A lot of people snag things off of Pinterest and Viola! Free outline/background/edit/overlay etc.

What if you find art you think will work great for your story but you cant find the original artist?

That would still be stealing. If that happens, then you would have to look for another art

That’s not allowed unless you ask for permission from the artist due to the fact that artists spend many hours and even days or weeks on their art.
I was just speaking hypothetically, I found art I loved, was going to credit the artist but then I found it 3 more times, different artist

Yeah it’s sad, because so many people repost stuff without credit
If there’s similar watermarks on them, maybe they say the actual creator.
