Tbh I totally agree with this thread. It just needs to stop. I will not be going into too much depth but like the Mafia isn’t pretty, SA isn’t pretty, Abusive and Toxic relationships aren’t and neither is a bad background, Why are these stories so popular on episode? I feel like everybody else has gone into depth about these but I just wanted to share this somewhere and here seemed like a good place. Like I read the first chapter to a story that wasn’t a huge story but it was very recommended.
So it looks bad but not the worst thing ever. So now I’m going to add some context.
This is the best friend of the MC. It is the MC’s birthday and a week ago her Dad died and her stepmother kicked her out which 1) That’s hard 2) Why couldn’t we just have a good stepmother-stepdaughter relationship for once. Like it’s not impossible. 3) If my friend’s dad died a week ago I wouldn’t be forcing them to go out and party even if it was their birthday. Why would you (Sarah) say this to your grieving friend. I’m sorry but you don’t just get over that and learn to live without them in a week. And the animations used made it even worse. On top of this it seems to be a typical poor girl needs big, cocky rich guy to save her. Now it might not be because I didn’t read on but it seems to be. I’m not going to name the author or story for respect because I think she was probably just following the trends of the app. I did go in on the Mafia in Manhattan thread tho if you want to read it.
