I really want to read a story about toxic relationship that ISN’T ROMANCIZED in any type of way and just showing the bad sides of the relationships. Do y’all know stories related to this topic?
I’ve once read a story named A Toxic Relationship by Melia.
It was really good and not romanticing it at all. I believe it was based on a true story.
I know that story. The author deleted it.
Believe me I loved that story so much and somehow I could relate to it.
Carrie gets out of toxic relationship in I Need A Therapist by Clem (sorry I don’t really know of any stories where the relationship is toxic yet not romanticized since they’re smothered by the ones that do romanticize toxicity), there’s also Psychopathic by Tehreem with a negative male MC.
He Can’t Tame Me by Meila also sheds light on toxic aspects of her relationship with her bf as well as her roommate.
Wait, does she romanticize toxic relationships or does the story have a toxic LI?
It’s hard to explain. The story touches on a lot of character flaws, their mistakes and how they come to terms with them. The characters identify what is toxic about themselves and their relationships, but MC focuses on becoming a better person throughout the story and so do the others to a degree. Her bf/ex isn’t actually a bad guy, it’s just that their relationship could’ve been better than it was. Her roommate is her LI though based on the cover and the plot. He’s sensitive, depressive and vulnerable and sometimes he unwillingly as well as willingly takes advantage of the fact that MC lives with him and gives him attention, support and love and by that I don’t mean he forces himself onto her or anything like that, it’s more of an emotional reliance and sometimes physical affection with validation+support. But having read the story, I wouldn’t really say it was romanticizing toxicity, it was more realistic, aware and problem-solving as well as quite slow but you can see how all of the characters develop for the better.
She didn’t delete it, she just chose to not show it on her profile
