I love most of those stories so I’m not shaming the authors, but it’s tiring to see the same art and aesthetic on the covers. I know is their freedom and money, but commissions are expensive and I don’t see the point of having the same cover as other people, if I spent 100 dollars on a cover I would make sure it’s unique
But I don’t know, the readers are guilty of this as much as the authors. We want variety, unique ideas, we rant all day about cliches but… do we support authors who write different things? think about it, many authors may write similar stories and have the typical black haired bad guy because it attracts reads, we can’t blame them because some of them gain money with the authors payment and it’s their job
