That’d be a great help for all the authors, newbies and pros!
When the time comes, I’d ask for your review, too.)
What in the hell is going on?! Have you guys seen the new story featured on the app “It Starts With A Bra”?!
Episode team, please, tell us: What. Were. You. Thinking?! And what are you doing?!
I just… I’m speechless. I don’t get it, and I don’t think I ever will. Because there’s absolutely no good reason for this mess. This story is absolute trash, period.
I’m so done with this app… I already said that I had no ounce of hope left for it, but this is taking it to a whole new level of hopelessness for what used to be a great app years ago… It’s quite sad to see it slowly turn this way. It’s getting worse and worse… Why?
I wish I could like this 1 million times.
It says that it’s based on that story under the bio (click on fanmail, then click bio). It doesn’t say that anywhere else though.
Don’t you worry about repeating! It’s good to see certain points be emphasized and it shows what each person is personally more sick and tired of. There’s really nothing else I can say, because I agree with everything that you’ve written in your post.
I do have something positive to say about the Episode team despite them turning their app, as I said before, into a fetish erotica app: at least they’re not censoring us on the forums and they’re letting us vent and fully show our outrage as long as we keep it somewhat civil. I’ve been on some forums where the moderators and admins aren’t this understanding. Don’t get me wrong, I still don’t have any sympathy for them anymore. It would probably be the last straw if they started deleting the posts and threads that criticize them.
I don’t understand why certain sentences in people’s answers here gets blurred out? Is it just me, or am I missing out on something?
It’s for “spoilers”, a lot of people here use this as more discreet parenthesis. While you’re writing your post, just select what you want to blur then click on the Options wheel > Blur Spoiler
Or use the [spoiler][/spoiler] BBCode.
Ohhh ok, thank you!
The only decent stories these days are Silent Voice, Thousand Dollar Friend, Senior Design, Me+3 is pretty good… And Twice In A Lifetime. Otherwise, most stories these days suck. Plus, if you read the guidelines it says specificly;
Real People and Places
No celebrity images or illustrated likenesses are allowed on backgrounds, overlays or story cards.
References to celebrities are allowed in stories, e.g.,: “Taylor Swift is my favorite singer.”
Celebrities may NOT appear as characters.
Celebrities cannot be a plot point or drive the story.
Story cards, backgrounds or overlays cannot contain brand references or celebrity likenesses
And look at the times they themselves have broken this rule. Unless Cameron Dallas isn’t as famous as I think he is? He is? Point Proven.
To be fair, those kind of celeb stories are from Episode Originals, and at best they’re a kind of marketing scheme
Yeah. Honestly, you’re right. I think I was just a bit annoyed that it seemed as if they broke their own rules.
Soooooo true
If you fall for your kidnapper you are mentally unstable.
there’s a lot of things i am TIRED of seeing in the trending and featured section that a lot of you mentioned. but what i’m really tired of is:
-
i fell in love with my teacher/college professor
-
i fell in love with my kidnapper
-
i fell in love with an abusive scumbag that only cares about me whenever i follow him around or trip around me oh clumsy ol’ me!! i just LOVE THAT FRESH PIECE OF FOINE AAHH
-
i’m a nerd and my crush is the most popular guy in school, lawwdd he look like a buffet i gotta look like a snack just for him and not benefit for my own self because he’s the only person that matters and idk what self care is oh did i mention that i get bullied a lot
someone just need to come get episode
Anyone know a good, incredibly cliche, comedy story? Those are sometimes entertaining to read.
You mean like a parody? Or a story that is meant to be taken more seriously but that is still very cliché? (:
For a parody: H & V : Pregnant By My Twin’s Student’s Gang Leader Dad by @J.Miley
Description: A parody where mistaken identities and a chance meeting leave you pregnant by your twin’s student’s gang leader dad. (This story somehow uses the three character art styles Classic, INK, and Limelight)
Clichés: Too many to count
For an enjoyable, pretty cliché drama/comedy: Faking Death by @Langdon
Description: You fake your own death only to return as a “new” person. Will you ever find real love or will you always be faking it?
Clichés: SPOILER ALERT (?)
1. The MC goes from “completely invisible nerdy girl” to “super hot new girl”
2. The mean girls are three cheerleaders including: one “leader of the pack” who acts like a monster, one seemingly and tragically dumb one, and one who causes problems to the MC’s best friend
3. The MC has 4 love interests who all fall for her almost instantly (the most popular guy in school who’s dating the monster cheerleader and whom the MC has had a crush on since childhood, the best friend who’s always been in love with her, the bad boy foster brother, and the good boy turned douchebag/almost rapist turned good again)
Those are the ones I remember at least, since the story takes a long time to update (: It’s a good example of a story that knows how to use clichés to its advantage and adds more to the plot. Sure, it’s very over-the-top sometimes, which is why I’d also classify it as a comedy.
Okay, so I got something that I see in almost every story
The MC best friend and the love interest his best friend have a relationship in A LOT of stories!
You deserve it!
