I don’t think I’ve ever read an episode original story the whole way through to be honest…
I often prefer small stories or re-reading my own work because re-reading my own stories lets me know that I am actually good at this, it boosts my confidence to write more.

You know the new story, “A Little More Me.”? I’ve never read it, but by the looks of it, it seems as if it’s about a girl who dresses differently to impress her hot neighbor (MAKEOVER STORIES ARE - ARGHHH)
Please tell me if I’m wrong, but after all this - Episode still hasn’t taken all the ranting about these incredibly bad stories and have continued to make them? Or is this “A Little More Me” story actually different? (As I’ve explained, I haven’t ever read it before.)

A quick summary of the majority of stories on Episode:
Author: This is____ she is___ years old her dad left her before she was born but somehow she can recognize him when he comes back for revenge. Her mom’s always at work and always wears a white collared shirt with a tight skirt or striped trousers. Her best friend has been with her since kindergarten and for some reason they will turn evil and stick up for the mean girl in the story who has no morals but to be mean and drug the MC.
There are 10000000 love interests and she magically loves all of them. The mains: The bad boy, the nice boy, the silly boy, the one you’re supposed to be with but did something really bad but you still pick them because the author will say something like “it’s your choice but ___ IS SO HOT OMG PICK HIM HE’S SUPPOSED TO BE WITH THE MC THAT’S HOW I IMAGINED THE MC TO BE”
You meet a love interest at a party which you magically got invited to and wore a skirt short enough to be your belt and the other option is to wear a hoodie and joggers. You also wear 10 pounds of makeup on your face and wear 1000 inch high heels OMG SO HOT LIKE SO NATURAL. The Love interest find you hot and kisses you then you push him away he slaps you, you cry and run away then you bump into a creep who tries to rape you then the abusive love interest flies out of nowhere like superman and punches the creep with one hit and for some reason all homeless/men on the street are weak and terrible fighters and faint after one hit then you say “OMG ___ YOU FOUGHT FOR ME?!!???” then they say “yas babe i love you eventhoughislappedyouandi’manabusiveidiotwhosmokesandwearsthecoolleatherjacketandtheweatheredjacketwithrippedjeans”

Sadly no…but i stopped reading after generic mean girls were introduced…so…idk hate makeover stories in general

it’s like tf you have to change yourself to be good enough for someone then that’s what makes the Love interest love you? Love isn’t when you start liking them because they wore a short skirt and makeup. And the fact that this is supported by the number of identical stories like this on the app smh

All of that author’s stories are the same thing over and over again. It’s another makeover story where no one notices you until you dress and look completely different. As usual.

Exactly that.
In the stories the girl always wears her hair in a ponytail has glasses and dress in jeans/hoodie or some sorta modest outfit. The other characters including her friend make fun of her style. Then they dress her in a short or tight outfit(that shes uncofortable with at first) as soon as sje gets guys attention and becomes popular for her apperance she gains “confidence” her crush only notices her when shes dressdd up…thats shallow and fricked up

everyone has their preferences
but idk i just hate how they portray girls - and guys (the nerd gets a makeover hebsjskwnsjaj) as when you need to change yourself in order to have a happy life. Like, it just puts us down?

I agree at that point! Authors will tell you not to change you’re self but at the end their MC changed herself because the ‘hot’ boys don’t like her the way she is
