I’m genereally tired of all the Epsidoe stories because there’s no more originality. There’s only a select few I like.
I agree, every story that I read tend to have the same topics.
Such as: MC meeting bad boy, bad boy has sex with a million girls and hated them but suddenly just loves the MC, mean girl who loves the bad boy and tries to break them up, etccccc…
I love stories that are unique!!
ikr, like i get that the story has to have… a story
but why tf does the bad boy choose the MC? they’re mostly just a plain character that lets people walk all over them. They have no qualities - unless he likes her for her body then fine.
oof totally agreed. he’s usually some huge player who cheats on every girl but the plain, boring MC is somehow good enough to stop him??
truuuu
omg this is hilarious and so freaking true. the random creep and the jerk love interest flying in to save the MC got me lmaooo it’s so real
And some asexual romance stories too, since I doubt they will part from their romance piles soon. Although most of the writers probably don’t even know that asexuality exists, or maybe they don’t even bother to incorporate that sexuality option into their stories because it doesn’t sell. Have you noticed how they stopped putting bisexual options in? And they have two new stories without even a gay option. It’s disappointing.
Same for me. You should check out “The Infected” by Caitorri. (I’m not sure if I spelled the author name correctly.) It’s the only zombie apocalypse story without the whole romance thing. I once read a bad zombie story where two guys were in love with the mc, and were fighting over her (during a time when they needed to fight for survival like crazy. What where they thinking?) And of course the mc was pretty weak like most mcs, so they kept saving her over and over again, but hated each other.
I wasn’t aware of that because I don’t read stories like that so I wouldn’t know. Episode pretty much write stories that will make them money. Romance stories are the main stories they write because they know it’ll bring in revenue.
I guess the bisexual option didn’t get too much money to them. Sadly, I’m not surprised. Most people don’t take bisexuality seriously.
I almost never read those stories, since they are all cliche romance.
I actually like stories with a bad boy hehe, so many people here says they’re tired of it and that it’s not realistic. And it’s not. I mean, in real life it wouldn’t be realistic that some bad boy who’s a player suddenly changes for one girl and that the a girl would fall in love with a player is even less realistic in the real world cause those are the boys who we want to avoid, right? BUT. It IS a story after all. And isn’t that the point of stories?
It doesn’t have to be realistic because if it were, it would be boring. Most stories are about a girl falling for the bad boy and then they change each other and that’s what people want to read because tell me a single love story or movie that got successful without that dream guy who would change themselves for the girl, that love we only see in the movies that we wish we had in reality. That’s what we want to read and see. If it was a story with a normal guy in school (I’m sure there are plenty of those stories too) and a normal girl, at least I feel like it wouldn’t be the same thing. It needs something for the love story to be a LOVE STORY, something that makes it special. If not, we wouldn’t read it. And the stories with a girl and a bad boy falling in love has something special. This is just my opinion though, my intention wasn’t to offend anyone or their opinions. And I’m not saying that the only good romance stories are with bad boys, I just feel like people shouldn’t write so much negative comments about them because every author works so hard to create their stories. So again, I don’t mean to be rude or offensive since we ARE allowed to have our own opinion. This is mine and it’s totaly fine if you don’t like stories with bad boys
Hahah.
It’s not that I “just don’t like them.”
Honey, haven’t you ever heard of influences?
Most of the stories on Episode with bad boys are about them being emotionally abusive (e.g kissing other girls in front of the MC then expecting her to take him back)
Or even as far as hitting them, or grabbing their arms harshly. Yes, I’ve seen *plenty of stories like this.
In fact, one story had the bad boy bully the MC because she was a nerd, then for some apparent reason he falls in love with her whether it’s because she’s “bad ass” or “cute and shy”. However most of the time the MC is a plain emotionless girl who cries every two seconds (yeah i know crying is an emotion but do you get me?? She’s normally weak and a push over, and usually runs into a homeless rapist and gets hurt.) And speaking of homeless guys who try to harass people in Episode stories, I’d like to see more of the girl PUNCH the bloody guy or at least scream or kick him in the freaking balls. At least try something. I know not all girls are strong like this, but putting it in an Episode story will effect young girls. If they see a story about a girl (or young boys) getting harassed by someone, they won’t think to fight back or anything. Yes, the kids will get taught this later on in life but these stories have huge impacts on young children’s lives. However if these kids see the MC in the episode story DEFEND themselves or hit the harasser, then that could potentially give them help in the real world. Yeah, it’s not a huge help but it does effect kids.
Anyway, if you’re not talking about liking the WEIRD bad boy stories (eg abusive jerks) then I have my own opinion on just bad boys in general. Yeah, you may like them but to many, many people, they’ve come off as annoying, repetitive, predictable etc
You said “that’s what a story is, right?” but I’ll have to disagree. A story should be something unpredictable, something interesting. It doesn’t have to be good, like I’ve explained the bad bad boy stories, but then again it can influence the real world. What is more likely: A kid reading a book about bad boys, or a kid downloading episode and reading about them there? Yeah, some kids do read, but especially in this generation where nearly every kid has a phone, there’s bound to be more accuracy on the second one.
On the whole, while many people love bad boy stories, I’d say the majority of people on here despise them. They’re boring, repetitive, annoying and predictable. “That’s your opinion”, you might say, but it doesn’t come to opinions when a girl in real life finds it ok that her boyfriend is abusing her because she read it in an animated story on an app, whether the abuse is physical or emotional.
You do have a point, sorry I wasn’t thinking of it that way. With “bad boys” I thought of stories like “the new girl” “the Shaw brothers and so on, but I guess they’re not really those kind of bad boys. If they’re even bad boy at all lol.
I feel stupid because I obviously misunderstood the meaning of bad boys. I haven’t read stories with abuse and stuff like that. But yes you do have a point, it would be much better if the girl could be the badass one. And not in a way that involves drugs or missing school but just being able to stand up for herself and have an attitude. I’m reading the story “Without You” and it’s a great example of playing as an mc who stands up for herself.
It’s fine, I missunderstood it lol. Glad we could sort it out
tbh, i wouldn’t mind any bad boy story as long as at the end the girl learns that she isn’t allowed to be treated like that and if the guy learns his lesson and is changed forever (and vice versa - guy learns, girl changes etc) xxx i just hate that some stories dont even acknowledge the mistakes the bad boy makes and carries on.
I’m sorry but I think the biggest cliche currently is the Mafia/Gangs. Like these “gangs” promote prostitution, drug abuse, torture, murder. These romanticized versions are completely obnoxious (at least in my opinion) and not to mention dangerous.
pr e ac h, k w ee n
The stories that have bad boys aka players, cliches, bad girls bad boys bla bla they love you bla cough talking about epsiode’s stories like it started with a bra
There is another new mafia story, and it forces you to be straight, you know, just the usual head over heels romance for a boy because he’s “hot.” Well I haven’t even read much of it yet but I would bet a thousand dollars that it is that.
