I think some cliches can be done well. I think it just depends on the story line and characters.
Ohh! Yeah lmao.
Totally correct
Some authors just do it for the attention and readers they’re gonna get. A lot of the plots are super generic and super predictable.
So what? It’s fun. I write to entertain others and because it’s fun.
Ugh. This whole thread is about stories we’re sick and tired of seeing. Doesn’t matter if it’s a popular story or not, there are still people who are tired of seeing certain things and this thread was made for people to share what they’re tired of seeing. This thread is for people to express those things so let them do just that.
Stories that end with MC getting pregnant and having kids as its happily ever after ending. It’s like… how do I put this… It’s like the married with kids ending is only written because that’s what the author considers happy or because they feel like they have to include children for a couple to be happy, regardless of whether that ending feels authentic for the characters.
This trope can be pulled off, but only if it feels like a natural progression for their personalities and I haven’t seen any story on Episode yet that successfully does so - at least not that I can recall.
Oh sorry I was just saying that it was probably not a good idea to be on this thread if they’re against the whole thread. Which I got the wrong idea of lol. I personally think it’s a bad idea to be on a thread if they’re just against the whole idea of it. Which is why I said maybe it wasn’t a good idea to be on this thread. Because I thought earlier that they were against this whole thread, which they aren’t. Especially if people get really angry at a certain thread too much. That was the perspective I was coming from. People have the right to an opinion of course, but I only said that because I didn’t see the point in staying on a thread if you kept getting mad at the content of the thread.
Sorry if it seemed like I was cancelling out your opinion or something. I think all opinions should be heard but I thought you were totally against people even talking about this, which is why I thought it would be good to not be on this thread because there’s no point in arguing about the actual topic of the thread unless it breaks the rules in my opinion.

You’re right. In my opinion, the use of bad boys has become cheap clickbait. The majority of readers on the app are young teens, so authors write in “bad boys” to get reads. And they’re always cookie-cutter douchebags with “sadpathetic excuses” backgrounds to explain away their abhorant treatment of the MC." BuT hE’s So HoT tHo"
The problem is now they’re combining bad boy and mafia stories. The love interest in the mafia stories is a bad boy (although being that he’s in an organisation that kills people, he’s more accurately classified as an evil boy.) There was a trending story where the “love” interest is a bad boy from the mafia. In his first scene, this “desirable” love interest is beating some poor shop owner for not paying him extortion money. Really!? This is the guy the girl falls for?
They have such strict rules about sex but they seem to look the other way for these kind of things. Mafia stories would be ok, if for once it was about the MC taking them down and bringing them to justice, but no it’s the old “mafia are cool” crap. Organised crime ruins innocent people’s lives. Many have lost loved ones to these scumbags. And they think this is appropriate for 13 year olds?
Sex is a natural thing. In fact it’s a very beautiful thing. Mafia and crime are not natural and all people involved should be in jail. Not celebrated as hero’s. I can only think of impressionable young children here that will think crime is “cool” and that a criminal is a “desirable” love interest to have.
But didn’t you know? One “long stare into the MCs eyes will give him strange feelings that he doesn’t understand. There’s just something about her. Now, I will 100% never commit crimes and violence again!”

I swear people need to stop beating the dead horse on this one. That’s not how any of this works. 1) The MC is ALWAYS a goody-two-shoes, shy or a stripper in a Mafia owned club.
So 2) The shy MC isn’t going to just be like OoO hOt GuY i’M iN lOvE nOw." and magically “lOvE” changes a mobster in the blink of an eye? Nope. Or the stripper thing- could people PLEASE stop making strippers pathetic and “My PaReNtS hAtE mE aNd KiCkEd Me OuT wHeN i WaS 16. I hAd tO mAkE mOnEy SoMeHoW”… .NO. There are strippers that just like the attention and love to dance. They make at minimum a ENTIRE minimum wage paycheck in a single night. They don’t live in broke down apartments or need a “MaFiA gUy” to come rescue them to give a better life. << Sorry, Rant. But It annoys me badly. I have friends who are dancers and they do it because they love it. Not because they have psychological damage, horrible family life or daddy issues.
Thing is most times he doesn’t. She joins the mafia and becomes a criminal.
Which makes no sense at all for a shy-follow-the-rules MC.
I just stumbled across your convo with @Lynx.Link and I remember someone saying on Reddit that straight Women like the idea of a Gay couple in the bedroom and straight Men like the idea of Lesbian couple in the bedroom because it’s the gender they are most attracted too.
While I agree that some people take it too far most are doing it because that’s what they sexually fantasise about not because they feel like LGBT people are some sort of Fetish so I would disagree on you calling that Gross.
I do agree that a lot of people need to work on how they write about LGBT characters though as it’s not a personality trait, it’s just what they are attracted too.
PFATAHHAHAHAHHA
Dont be rude. Like dont.
I know right. Every time I try to look in the comedy section it’s all “oH yOu mOvE iN wItH tHe bOy nExT dOoR bEcAuSe oF yOuR aBuSiVe pArEnT aNd eNd uP fAlLiNg iN lOvE” or in the horror section “yOu hAvE tO cHoOsE bEtWeEn a gHoSt aNd tHe bOy wHo sAvEd yOuR lIfE” like no. Stop. They belong in ROMANCE. There is a separate genre for love stories for a reason. I stg they put one joke in there and automatically think it’s a comedy story.
I love this
I swear most times Gem choices in featured stories don’t make sense plot-wise. I get it when they are bonus scenes which are cute, but the few times I did choose a gem choice it’s like no effort has been put to have them make sense in the grand scheme of things or, if the ‘gem scenes’ exist in the original, make the free one … so laughably empty.
Some of Sandra’s stories are first in my mind. One of my

Kind of this is the one which is essentially making a major plot point (read: ‘love confession’) happen earlier … just because
