When authors make “you” the main character, but then make my character do all sorts of dumb crap that I would NEVER. EVER. DO.
It makes me so mad when “I” start going after a douche and a nice boy (love triangles are stressful and I would never put myself in that situation, also I’m personally not even a little attracted to bad boys)
When “I” cheat on someone
When “I” get into an abusive relationship
When “I” start being disrespectful and rude to people around me to be “sassy” or a “bad girl”
When “I” catch my S.O. being harassed by a stalker ex and, instead of figuring out what actually happened, storm off because obviously they’re cheating on me 
I could go on, but these are the examples that first came to mind. I totally get authors having the MC do things for the plot’s sake or whatnot, and I get that every. single. decision. made by the MC can’t be our choice, because some things do have to happen in order for the story to make sense, but FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PLEASE:
give us a choice to avoid a love triangle in a story that has nothing to do with them
give us a choice to, ya know, not cheat on our S.O.
let us avoid an abusive relationship
don’t have b*tchy MCs
and at least give me the option to walk up to the person harassing my S.O. and give them a piece of my mind, give me the option to tell them off, and give me the option to hear my S.O. out
because that’s what I would do.

It’s getting to the point where the only featured stories are the clickbait ones. Like they should almost rename episode “bad boy/mafia central.” I would give ANYTHING to see a unique story featured.

Some of them weren’t bad, there were a few that said “if I loved her,” and I think it’s respectable.
I noticed a lot of guys responded with “it’s just not like that nowadays” and “just live your life” which can be viewed as disrespectful. Some people want to wait until marriage, as one guy said, to ensure that the connection isn’t purely physical, which is understandable.
I’m not mad at the answers, some people don’t want to wait until marriage, which is understandable. Knowing your sexual preference is important, because a happy sex life is important.
Some people want to experiment with different genders, which is a little hard to do being married. Some people want to experiment with sizes or kinks (that their partner may not be into).
I think that if you want to wait, do it, if you don’t, that’s also fine.
- My parents didn’t wait and they’ve been together for 17 years with me, their 16-year-old daughter, and my two, slightly younger, siblings.
- My maternal grandparents waited and they went through a brutal divorce, dragged my mom through hell, and then got back together and don’t do anything fun on their own time.
- My paternal grandparents waited and went through a horrible divorce, and now can’t be in the same room together.
- My friend’s parents waited and they have a happy marriage.
- My aunt didn’t wait and got divorced.
(Wow this is a lot longer than I thought it would be) There’s no formula for this, just live your life the way you want to, and don’t let anyone pressure you into doing things you don’t want to do.
To make this on topic: Any featured stories. They’re tired, overused tropes and cliches that need to go. I wish Episode would feature something different and unique.

Okay so first of all, can we just say how toxic Episode makes their character developments? One perfect example is More Than Friends (previously Friends with Benefits).
Plus, the MC says she’s a matchmaker but for some apparent reason breaks up Leo and Aimee’s very personal dates. She’s trying too hard and not thinking about hurting Ajax and Ivory’s feelings, like she just can’t accept Aimee and Leo aren’t dating each other. The MC needs to grow up and sort out that crappy mess of hers with Shay before going in on innocent people like Ajax and Ivory who genuinely are mature and not two-sided fake-as-plastic so-called dumb lovestruck idiots like this friend group over here.
Leo says he’s sick of Ivory’s reaction towards Aimee, but to me she’s just doing her duty as his girlfriend or as so what Leo manipulates her to believe. I mean, Leo is always looking at Aimee in that more-than-friends way and they even kissed in Truth or Dare, why blame her? Leo is the coward here, he can’t even communicate his feelings properly and instead of saying straight out what he felt, he chose to cause more drama and heartbreak for Ivory and then says he doesn’t understand why she’s acting this way?
Two main jerks of the story are Leo and the MC. Shay is understandably a very lovestruck idiot, but that doesn’t stop him from betraying the MC? Aimee keeps saying she’ll move on and yet she’s extremely toxic and keeps moping over Leo and Ivory.
TBH? I hope they make a sequel of this.
But not about this shitty friend group.
About this friend group suffering from their past actions and Ajax and Ivory together living the life in a honeymoon suite.

If I’m being honest you are so right people always critisize other people but the thing is they don’t understand how much time it takes for these people to think and write this stories. I found loads of stories that took 2 years to write without any breaks.

The worst offenders I’ve known so far (as I can recall more recently) are from the Trending stories (I never do Featured for gem nickle-diming reasons). I will explicitly name two: Scars of Revenge and Just an Illusion Series. Both have the “bad boy” threaten harm on the MC or someone the MC cares about as a form of strong-arming a relationship.
But the first one is the most heinous of these stories that I’ve ever read. He cares nothing about the MC or her sick sister, and will gladly threaten to kill the sister for his own ends (He even tried to force the MC to kill her!! I don’t care if it turned out to be a fake-out!) All for some revenge that can in no way justify that. And worst of all, the author intended this to be a love story. This very supposed “bad boy” stretches the term so thin it might as well be air. Gawd, there’s even a cliche scene where a worker comes and says “Oh he’s really a good person”. WHAT.
Forgot to add: I have already flagged this story for romanticizing abuse and Stockholm Syndrome. I’m not sure if it got taken down yet.

Another trend I want to point out may be an unpopular opinion, but I do not like points-based stories. Especially ones where you won’t be able to track whether or not you messed up, or you won’t be able to boost certain points. I’m saying this because Episode lacks a feature where you can replay certain chapters. And also because I suffer from FOFU (Fear of Fucking Up.

Go to the romance section. How many covers portray male love interests with black hair and the same damn tribal tattoos? Bonus points for wearing a black shirt and/or leather jacket. They are EVERYWHERE.
And all the covers portray some scene of steamy lust.
