Story opening help!

Hi just wondering what catches a readers attention first…

So I’m starting off my first episode with my main character having a dream about kissing her guy bestfriend (please tell me if that’s good to catch your attention)

Would you be more interested if her boyfriend caught her saying his name and they have a heated argument OR her bestfriend catches her and he asks about it but she throws it aside and the chemistry begins to appear?

Please help, I literally don’t know lol

Hi, there is no rule on what will work better it more deppends on how it is written. Both can work if it will be written in way that will make reader interested.

OH and BTW - this doesn’t belong to directing help &Tips. You should put this to the “feedback” part of the forum.

In my opinion, neither approach works because the kiss happens in a dream. Realistically, no one would get in an argument over having a dream about kissing someone unless they were completely unhinged. I say make the kiss actually happen and then go with the boyfriend argument approach.
