You see it once in a story. And they’ll be sure to use it a good 10 more times in that same episode. Drives me nuts
also the typical mean for no reason blonde cheerleader named amanda
Wrong lipstick shade AND her hair’s forged from the void. Wow.
Edit: and the lipgloss is like atrociously light! Like, it’s almost too light for me and I’m horrifically pale. That shade works for maybe 3 skin tones. If you’re gonna be lazy at least be lazy properly!
Luckily she only had a literal 5 seconds of screen time lmaoooo.
I dont mind a mean blond girl. but please give her a reason people. like you literally showed up at the school are just standing there breathing and maybe you are hot but in most stories the backstory dont fit that. you asked this guy for directions and BOOM. that boy was mean girls boyfriend and now she will make your life miserable. that is no reason to hate someone. and actually is kinda creppy that you think its worth ruining someone’s life over.
5 minutes? That’s too many
Whoops! I meant seconds lmao. She was a fan. I’ll go and change it
It was kinda late when I typed that.
5 seconds? That’s still too many. An ideal number would be 0.

Right lmao
poorly layered kisses or hugs. It’s not that hard guys.
I think that’s the point. You’re not supposed to like her after all.
When the story is basically finished but the author keeps throwing in random situations. Just end the story, the conflict was already resolved.
Some authors have no sense of fashion and their outfit choices are hideous
Also, advanced directing is not for everyone. Most authors that try it just end up making it really choppy and disjointed-like. I’d prefer basic directing that is clean and aesthetically pleasing.
Overuse of narration is a big no-no. It takes me out of the story and then I’m left just tap-tap-tapping away for the scene to be over with already.
What’s the deal with the “my hot crush and his hot brother” trope??
The MC is always awkward in steamy moments. Make your MCs be in charge for once! Stop with the idle_awkward_scratch animation already!!
Ok, lol ![]()

Yeah, exactly! They can just use the default @CHARACTER enters from right to screen centre. Instead, they use @CHARACTER walks to spot X Y Z and it ends up looking like trash.
The authors are just jealous that they cannot be liked by the popular bad boy or his brother, and makes the MC be their girlfriend.
Tbh, no one, literally NO ONE does idle_awkward_scract animation and stays quiet the whole time IRL. What’s wrong with the MC? Like, really?! I get it that some girls are shy and quiet, but tat’s different!
I’d better not have internet for a month than reading these cliches.
Cringe dialogue is another big one. No your name isn’t “Brody the Bad Boy.” I appreciate the alliteration, but no. No, teens do not say, “This party is lit, dawg!”
No directing. It’s just the characters standing in place with no movement. The characters randomly appear in and out.
Grammar. I totally understand if there are a few grammar mistakes. English is hard, coming from a native English speaker. But it gets to a point sometimes where I genuinely do not understand.
Grammar is alright.
No punctuations, capital letters for specific letters and wrong spellings are okay, but not capitalizing ‘I’, sentences which don’t make sense really angers me. Another grammar peeve is when an author, whose first language isn’t English, tries to make the sentence using complicated words which wouldn’t make sense at all. Like, seriously, can’t you use simple words and small sentences?
Oof I have so much to talk about!
Bad directing and coding: Seeing characters layered incorrectly, sizes of characters being all out of wack, etc. I was reading a story and the layering was so bad that I couldn’t read it anymore.
Punctuation and capitalizing there first letter of a sentence: I’m pretty lenient when it comes to Grammar but capitalizing and ending a sentence using a period isn’t too much to ask.
Forced feelings: Don’t force my character to have feelings for another if there’s already other LI options. It’s especially irritating when you’re a lesbian playing a romance story for the one token female LI just to read that the MC accidentally sleeps with one of the other male LIs or is conflicted over having feelings for him when I have no interest whatsoever.
If there’s a story with an LGBT option but there’s rarely any choices or scenes with them: I don’t like wasting my time on stories that are basically like queerbaiting or make the LGBT option just an after thought. I hate to see when the female LI isn’t treated or written with as much care as the other male LIs. If you’re going to half-ass a female LI then I’d rather not see her at all than have her.
Bad boys: So many bad boy stories but I kind of get it because most teen girls go through a “bad boy” phase. I just don’t like seeing bad boys that are toxic af whether it’s through abuse or emotional manipulation. It sends a bad message to girls that stuff llike that is okay.
Saviors: Seeing the character nearly getting sexually abused or physically attacked just in time for the LI to save them because it’s “romantic.” No. Just stop.
Step-brother LI: He’s your brother. That’s already enough of an explanation as to why this shouldn’t be a thing.
Teacher LI when you’re in high school: If a teacher has feelings for you … it’s not hot. It’s gross. The teacher basically a total creep because he’s an adult that’s pursuing someone underaged and in a position of power. I don’t like seeing this being romanticized.
The wild parties: There’s other ways to further the plot, develop characters, and have romantic scenes instead of the MC going to a party and getting blackout drunk. Or, if the MC is going to drink, can we just have them drink in moderation or drink responsibly for once?
Mean Popular Girl that exists just to be an obstacle in the MC’s way: It’s so cliche. There’s other ways to incite conflict and drama other than writing a character that exists just to get into the MCs way. At least add more depth to their character or something. For example, my story has a mean popular girl who seems to hate the MC because she’s doesn’t like the male LI talking to the MC but that isn’t actually the case because the mean girl actually has feelings for the MC and threatens the MC to stay away from the male LI because he’s the one that’s in the way.
Here’s a story pet peeve I have:
When the guy is spot directed to where he looks likes he’s a foot taller than the girl.
