I really don’t get this they’re the same words spelt differently and said differently

I say (Yo-lk) my family makes fun of me and pronounce is (yo-ke)

I have that hood accent. It really isn’t a thing, but I just talk like that

The amount of peeps who say ‘ro͞of’ (rhyming with tooth) instead of ‘ro͝of’ (rhyming with ‘book’) amazes me.
