Yeh, that’s why I asked. No worries. Let’s do it the easier way:
Put the crying character in an upscreen position and the comforter in screen center. Then you’d have the character crying and use a hug rear behavior for the he comforter.
Ex:
&CHAR1 stands upscreen left AND CHAR1 faces right AND CHAR1 is crying_behvaior
&CHAR2 stands screen center AND CHAR2 faces right AND CHAR2 is hug_rear_behavior

Ok i think that makes sense. Now for me to get the whole spot directing thing and I’ll be good to go lol. Can’t u use that to make a car move and everything? I’m writing 2 different stories so that may have threw me off to a little bit more than i would like to admit
Spot directing helps for putting people in cars but it wouldn’t help with moving cars. Moving cars falls under overlay animation. Here’s a guide on that:

Ok thank you so much I’ve actually mentioned you as well as @Apes in my episodes but they aren’t published yet as soon as i go over all of this and try to get a hang on spot directing then I’ll be publishing them as i want to go over and edit cause i don’t like the way some of it looks looks like they are jumping while they are talking for some reason lol? Not sure why

how do i go about making my character shorter so that she looks like a kid?
You go to directing spot and the there you have options move and scale
You need to click on move and then you can select the size of a character
I don’t know if this is going to make very much sense but I need help with it. In some stories a character will use two animations for one speechbubble and I was wondering how to do that. I couldn’t really think of a story that uses it but I’ve seen some that do but I just can’t remember what they are. I hope that makes sense. Thanks in advance
Right before the speech bubble (the line above) place the two actions.

You can speed up the actions by adding a pause to each animation.
&CHARACTER starts talk_neutral and pause for 0.5 then CHARACTER starts talk_mindblown and pause for 0.5

For backgrounds with overlays built in, the overlay is automatically in the furthest forward layer so you can’t put a character in front of it in the default position. The work around is to write the background in your script like this:
INT. CLASSROOM FRONT OL - DAY with INT. CLASSROOM FRONT OL - DAY at layer 0
By doubling the background as its own overlay you can choose the layer the default overlay is in. If the overlay is placed at layer 0, you can now put the character you want in front of the desk in any positive numbered layer.

so after using your example now they look awkward when they come from hug what did i do wrong afterwards?
