When you check your overlay in the directing helper section, do you know what the coordinates are? Tell them them, and I’ll write it up :wink:

Hello new here!
I have a question how do you put a character on a chair.
I have the background: INT. THRONE ROOM ZOOM - DAY
And I want my character to sit on that chair when the scene begins
how do I?

Welcome to the forums @Wolfprint :wave:t2:

To make character sit in the place you want, you need to use spot directing.

Place your character in default first, but with the sit animation and facing the right way.

So for example:
@CHARACTER stands screen right AND CHARACTER faces right AND CHARACTER is sit

then you need to use
Directing Helper -> Spot Helper

Check out this thread here :slight_smile:

Make character smaller/bigger and move to the place you want then just copy the numbers to your script.

Hi so I worked out how to spot characters in another zone during the scene when you want to pan or cut to zone but what if you have a scene where another character appears later in the scene at the other zone. I’ll explain;

My scene is, MC is at the karaoke bar, she is in zone 1, pan to zone 2 where her boyfriend shows support, then pan back to her and while she is singing, someone yells 'Boo", so I have the Narrator speech bubble in zone 1 for the Heckler because I am showing the MC still singing and ignoring it, I then pan back to zone 2 to show the boyfriend’s reaction, they have a few words, this is where the Heckler appears.

This is my script
INT. KARAOKE BAR - NIGHT
@YOU changes into YOU_Sweet Purple
@DANNY changes into DANNY_Funeral
@CORY changes into CORY_Karaoke Heckler
@YOU spot 0.875 64 183 in zone 1 AND YOU faces right
@DANNY spot 0.803 122 227 in zone 2 AND DANNY faces left
@YOU is sing_dance_fingersnap_loop
@pan to zone 2 in 3
@DANNY is dance_wavehands_happy_loop
DANNY (react_claphands_happy)
Go baby!!!
@pan to zone 1
@YOU is sing_dance_shimmy_loop
@speechbubble is 189 93 to 97%
NARRATOR
Boo! Get off the stage!
@pan to zone 2
@CORY spot 0.803 214 160 in zone 2 AND CORY faces left
@CORY is callout_neutral
@DANNY faces right
@DANNY is idle_armscrossed_angry_loop
@speechbubble is 161 406 to 89% with tail_bottom_left
DANNY (talk_armscrossed_angry_loop)
That will do mate!
@pan to zone 1
@YOU is idle_awkward_uneasy_loop
YOU (talk_reassure_neutral)
It’s ok Danny!
@pan to zone 2
@DANNY is idle_armscrossed_angry_loop
CORY (talk_airquotes)
Yeah, it’s ok Danny!
@DANNY walks to spot 0.884 133 170 AND DANNY is idle_argument_angry_loop
CORY (talk_angry)
What, what?!
@pan to zone 1
YOU (talk_handsonhips_neutral)
Leave it Danny, he is pig, but it isn’t worth it!
@pan to zone 2
CORY (talk_apathetic)
Wow Danny not only is your girlfriend hot but she got a mouth on her!
@pan to zone 1
YOU (talk_afraid)
Danny no!!!
sound thud
@YOU is react_gasp_dismayed

you need to place him offscreen right and then use the walks to spot command (so he won’t like appear but walk into scene)

Hi! I’m writing my first story and I’m stuck on the entering part of it.
So the lines are :
@ TOM stands screen right in zone 2 AND TOM faces left
@ CAROLINA enters from left to screen center
@ BECKY enters from left to screen left
@ CAROLINA walks to screen center in zone 2 AND pan to zone 2
@ BECKY walks to screen left in zone 2 AND pan to zone 2

The problem is that when “carolina” arrives she waits for “becky” 'cause “becky” starts walking when “carolina” has arrived. How can I make them walk together? So that they arrive together.
And also can the code be smth like @c enters … and walks to screen left in zone 2.
PS!: using limelight.

Thank you

try & instead of @ for BECKY and CAROLINA

&CAROLINA enters from left to screen center THEN CAROLINA walks to screen center in zone 2
&BECKY enters from left to screen left THEN BECKY walks to screen left in zone 2 AND pan to zone 2
