Make the girl with the ponytail face right. Move the in with the ponytail at layer 2 and the other girl at layer 1 then just play around with spot directing
I’ve just tried it but the character with the ponytail is behind the other one…
Did you also try this?
OK that’s really strange that should have worked
Resources to check out:
Use spot direction, so:
@SKY spot 1.280 X 0 in zone 1 at layer 2 AND SKY faces left
@PIXIE spot 1.280 X 0 in zone 1 at layer 1 AND PIXIE faces right
&SKY walks to spot 1.280 260 in 2
@PIXIE walks to spot 1.280 160 0 in 2
#make them hug
#place them offscreen and the middle number (the X, left, right, on the horizontal axis) that you get put that into the X (both of their X’s will be diff as PIXIE is coming from the left, so the X for her will be a lower number than SKY, who’s coming from the right-the higher number)
Ok thanks I’ll try that
You didn’t try what I said at all
Put them offscreen and whatever the middle number you get put it into X.
Remove them coming in from the left & right using normal positions. Just make them come in with spot direction.
Also, have you looked over the articles I linked and read them?
*also, you might need to play around with spot direction, especially the middle value to get a hugging scene that you desire.
how do you find the middle number?
@JOHN spot 1.280 200 0
What I bolded is the middle number.
Also remember to go over the articles
Use the spot helper to move your character around off the screen and you’ll get a middle number to use (just middle) so they walk into the scene smoothly, in a straight line.
ive done that but because the characters are both entering the scene do I need them to enter?
because otherwise they don’t come onto the screen…
You should make them walk into the scene using spot direction
Can someone help me?
am I doing something wrong when it comes to overlay?
My problem is that the overlay or in my case overlays is “flashing”
So in my scene I have two overlays at the same time and the other scen I have zero overlays.so when you are reading the dialogue between the characters then you see that the overlay is like “jumping” for a few seconds, when the scene comes to the one that is having the overlays.
My overlay should be in front of my character but you can see the whole character before the overlay can get there…
and it does so even though I have typ this “&”
And the funny thing is that it only does like that on the phone, but not on the computer…
I hope you understand me, it’s a little difficult to explain …
try moving the layers.
@character moves to layer 1
@overlay (name of overlay) to layer 5
I have already done that, but it still don’t work…
This is how I wrote:
EXT. CELL with DOOR at layer 0
@cut to zone 1
&zoom on 188 568 to 204% in 0
&overlay 5207944407547904_DOOR shifts to -11 -69 in zone 1
&overlay 5207944407547904_DOOR scales to 1.715 1.715 in zone 1
@ARLUS moves to layer -1
@ARLUS spot 1.588 158 0 and ARLUS faces right and ARLUS is idle_happy_loop and CASSIEL spot 1.773 265 -116 and CASSIEL faces right and CASSIEL is idle_rear
