I plan to start a story with my friend and she’s doing all the writing, I’m doing the directing part :slight_smile: but it depends on you and your writing partner how you want to do it.

Hey! Does someone know how to make a animation go faster? I’ve seen it in some stories in fighting scenes and I’m making one of my own.

&CHARACTER is punch_jab
@pause for 0.2
&CHARACTER is punch_jab
@pause for 0.2

And so on :slight_smile: you can adjust the time of the pause

@Apes Hello I’m using this template but there is an error what do I do :question:

How do we move those built in overlays to another layer? I have a character that I want to place in the courtroom background but I can’t make them stand in front of all the overlays

What kinda template?

Just add a background as an overlay

INT. BACKGROUND with INT. BACKGROUND at layer #

Oh it works now, I just looked at one of your templates

Yay thank you!

This is definitely a stupid question but this is my first story so forgive me! what is the code to get characters positioned in the background of a scene? I’ve been trying tons of different things but nothing is working.CodeProblem1

You have to put the char in a spot. So on the preview, on the right side of your compute, you have to select directing helper and then spot helper. After move your Char to wherever you want them.

back at far left and back at right aren’t valid commands.

The background positions that exist are:

back far left
back left
back right
back far right

Also, yeah spot directing is a great way to place background characters.

The code for it:

@CHARACTER spot % X Y
% is the height of the character
X is the x-axis, horizontal line (left, right)
Y is the y-axis, vertical line (up, down)

Example:

@JOHN spot 1.280 200 0
1.280 is the %
200 is the X
0 is the Y

Also, I accidentally responded on one of @ Dara.Amarie 's help threads on script errors because it didn’t have her name in the title so I thought it was like this one and anyone can answer but thank goodness I scrolled up and saw XD so I deleted those answers…hopefully no one saw them :scream_cat:

ANYWAYS, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! :partying_face: :poultry_leg:

hi good day what kind of animation for limelight smoking cigarette
