I’m happy that it worked
Quick questions…
- Do all the new features (like timed choices, tappable overlays, text overlays, etc.) work in Ink too?
- I’m pretty sure I did everything right for a text overlay (pretty much followed Dara Amarie’s template by the letter.) but it didn’t show up in the previewer. (and the scene wasn’t set in a black background.)
Does the text overlays not show up in web previewer? - How do you input a name, and make it appear as the character’s name on the speechbubble?
For example, the reader chooses to get named Ivy. How can I make the character’s display name, on top of the speechbubble?
Thank you in advance!
My script isn’t working, can anyone help?
INT. KITCHEN 2 with OVERLAY ISLAND at layer 2
@JESSICA spot 0.961 -366 213 in zone 1 at layer -2
@pan to zone 3 in 10
@pan to zone 2 in 5
What exactly is going wrong?
Ah okay. It’s the layering that’s wrong. Try putting her at layer 1 instead.
Let me know if that fixes the problem.
Previewing it on my phone right now.
Okay cool
No differece
Okay, move her to layer 3 instead.
sill nothing. I’m clueless to why it didn’t work.
I’m wondering if it’s because you put at layer instead of to layer for Jessica?
This is part of my script. The characters are behind the kitchen overlay.
@JILLIAN moves to layer 1 and HACHI moves to layer 1
@overlay BOWL OF BERRIES to layer 2
@overlay GREEN KITCHEN ISLAND to layer 1
tried that too, still no difference. I changed it to moves to layer and stuff but no difference
Okay, let me test your script with my story. Maybe I can figure it out that way.
Is she popping up in the scene at all?
yes just in front of the overlay
Okay, so this might actually just be a problem with the scripting of the overlay. I could be wrong though. Take the at layer 2 off of the background line. Then place it just like this in your script. I have found that some overlays won’t work if you put layering or zoning on same line as the background.
@overlay OVERLAY ISLAND to layer 2
@character spot 0.961 -366 213 in zone 1 at layer -2
still cannot get it to work. should I make the overlay not be in the scene to start out with then add it?
Possibly, I have had problems like this appear because I added the overlay to the background line. Just to make sure your overlay is called OVERLAY ISLAND or is the name actually ISLAND? Because if your adding overlay to the name when it’s not part of the name then it could also be messing with it too.
