This actually sounds like a cool idea imo!
agree!

We also need sub-genres! I’ve been screaming this for ages, but the genres we have now are too limited, it’s basically impossible to get seen in a genre like romance where it’s filled with stories. With sub-genres we could have more possibilities to get seen and readers could find easily what they want to read
Oh my GOD I almost submitted mine thinking 1 = worst and 6 = best, like on a scale of 1 to 10 I gotta go back and change everything
I agree. There’s definitely a problem with how big the romance genre is compared to all the other ones, and it’s throwing off the statistics. Whenever my story in adventure gets, like, three consecutive reads, it’s rank moves from #3541 to #190
Alright so for the first question this is what I answered. If you guys second me on any of these you should include them in your survey answers so that they might actually happen
- Seperate user stories by genre so they are easier to find. Right now the user stories section is pretty cluttered and not user friendly
- Make a shelf for user stories that doesn’t restrict the new user stories. I can’t see new user stories because I haven’t read fifty chapters on episode yet, and this restriction is unnecessary and prevents success in new upcoming writers since it’s the only way I look for new stories.
- Include a ‘fan favorites’ shelf that highlights popular user stories based on how many users have added them to their story recommendations.
This is a thing??! I never knew… I’ve always been able to see them… (You mean in <Stories We
> right?) I also read almost fifty chapters on my first day on the app… but I wasn’t aware of that.
Yeah there are only two shelfs in stories we heart for me, I sent a support ticket a while ago and thats what they told me
Great survey! It would be quite amazing to see some of these suggestions get implemented in the future.
So strange… I’m not always convinced by they’re answers. People have mentioned strange issues or things they don’t have, and with hearing collective responses they’ve received… it starts sounding like they can’t always be sure as to why something is happening.
I always get so snarky in these surveys

This is what I put as suggestions for this question during the Survey!
Like to support these ideas so they might get implemented!
I’m glad that a lot of us want sub-genres and “recommended for you based on what you read” options. These are what I suggested as well.
It’s high time there’s something done for smaller authors. Anything they can do, is appreciated. Because right now most of us are left on our own.
And regarding the creator’s contests, maybe there’s a way in which all the contest entries can be found in the same place on the app during the decision time. Readers can scroll through and choose which plots excite them and read it. This can level the playing field instead of the smaller authors trying every small thing to get the minimum amount of reads.
The winners can be showcased on the app after the decisions have been made, on a special shelf.
@R.es.Story If you are on your cell phone, you have to slide to the right in order to score 1(best) to 6(worst).
Like how in Wattpad you can pick a secondary genre. I.e. Your primary genre is Romance, but your secondary genre is fantasy.
They should make it more clear by staing the numbers on the instructions though… because its interpretable to me.
I really thought 1 is worst and 6 is best. And sometimes some surveys go that way. 1 can mean the worse and 6 the best while other surveys can be vice versa.
Let’s just say if there’s any chance of ambiguity or misinterpretation, immediate action should be done to correct it.
Allow other authors to cross star in each other’s episodes, it really helps with their promo
I totally forgot to add this to my survey! Would be amazing if we had a way of knowing our retention score per episode. To see the percentage of people who finished each one. If suddenly half our readers drop off at a certain episode then we would know where we lost our audience!
Well shit on a brick, I did it in reverse order.
