Switching out one overlay for a different one in the same scene?

Is there a correct way to switch out an overlay for a different one in the same scene? I have like 6 different overlays for just one specific scene I want to create but I don’t know how to switch them out without the scene messing up or clearing overlays to replace the previous one with a newer one :pleading_face:

Overlays I want to use

Instead, you can maybe try having the overlays fade in and out?
@overlay OVERLAYNAME create
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.1 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.2 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.3 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.4 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.5 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.6 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.7 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.8 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 0.9 in 0.1
@overlay OVERLAYNAME opacity 1 in 0.1

and then to fade out you just do that but in the opposite order.

Thanks I’ll try it out, but the scene is more of a flashback into the MCs mom life where she sees her mom get killed in front of her and there’s like dialogue in between switching to a different overlay

If you want to avoid clearing overlays then try setting the opacity to 0 for the overlays which you want to remove. You can get the scene right only by trial and error. Or if you tell the sequence in which the overlays are to appear then someone can make you a script template.

I figured it out but thank you for the suggestion :heartpulse: @Adrija
