An essay, if anyone is interested

I’m adopted but I don’t have any memories from my life before the family and life I know and love. :relaxed: It would be weird to meet one’s biological family because of others expectations. :eyes: I mean… although we would be genetically related I don’t actually know them or who they are at all. Just because you’re related doesn’t mean that you have to like them or that they’re nice persons. :see_no_evil: I’m very thankful and would be nice towards them and open to get to know them though, but I wouldn’t see them as my family right away. :wink: They would have to go through the same process as any stranger with some extra curiosity from my side. :smiling_imp:

It would be different if you had memories from before you got adopted though. And everyone doesn’t feel and think the same about this. I know that I can come off as insensitive… :hugs:

I’m very thankful for the life I have now and don’t feel abandoned at all. I would like to think that they cared enough to let me get raised by a family who had the time and resources. That must have been hard for any parent. In the case that they actually just wanted to get rid off me I’m happy too hehe :wink:

True I don’t like my family for say but I do somewhat appreciate them. I don’t know what’s it like being adopted into another family, someone who isn’t related to you at all but I have left my mom and dad before so I do know the feeling of starting over…

Since I don’t remember much from my earlier years, I can’t say that I know for sure either. :thinking: Except from that I don’t look like my family (most kids were mindblown about that hehe) and I can’t tell the doctors about illnesses that runs in my family. :nerd_face:

Sometimes that’s the best thing to do, but not always that fun… :yellow_heart:
