It depends on what type of school, Or the area.

American schools start around August and September in general.

if you’re somewhere like Tennessee it starts early or maybe you’re in catholic school. :thinking:

I’m sure there are schools that starts early in Canada.

I mean I’ve never been to a school in Canada that’s started in August, but according to Google, schools in Quebec start in August.

Ok, so my grade is hosting a party next week. Anyway it goes from 6pm onwards and it takes like a 40 minute drive from my house for me to reach the hotel where it is held. So there’s only a few days left and I still haven’t made up my mind whether I should attend or not.

My mum is kind of against the idea of me going. She said she can drive me to the hotel, but she doesn’t want to drive to pick me up at night because it’s night and something can happen, eg, the car decides to breaks down. Then when I bring up the idea of her calling a cab for her to to come and pick me up, she says, that we don’t know who the cab driver is, so it’s unsafe to trust a stranger at night like that.

So I can listen to her and not go. But then there’s the fact that there is less than a week left, and I think it’s a little too late to say that I can’t go. The teacher who is in charge already booked the hotel according to the number of people who she thought would attend, and she kind of assumed that our whole class would come cause we were the ones who organised the whole thing. But I heard from a friend that a girl in our grade told the teacher that she won’t be able to attend cause she was going away for a while, and the teacher got really pissed and scolded her for telling her “last minute.” So I’m kind of dead either way (and I’m being a little over dramatic but whatever).

Anyway…

  • Go! So you’re mum has to find some way to pick you up, yes she’ll get pissed, yes it’s easier to just stay home, but everyone else is going. And it’s not that unsafe to hire a cab at night.
  • Don’t go! So you’ll have to tell your teacher you can’t go, yes she’ll get pissed, yes she’ll scold you for telling her “last minute,” but it’s easier than persuading your mum to let you go.

Could anyone explain honors class in relation to the poll or is that the same as AP?

It’s not the same as AP, if you take AP you have to take an exam at the end of the year by the College Board. But if you’re in honors you don’t have those exams
