I can google. I asked one specific person to tell HOW HE UNDERSTANDS IT. Because it varies from person to person. But hey… it is hard to understand. I forgive u
What if the political parties they support and defend on a regular basis call for the unequal rights of my family and friends, and even me.
I kid, I was being an ass, it’s true. I’m not gonna apologise though :3
Funny because I wanna know where this same energy when people are speaking hate speech and disrespecting minorities?
I see a lot of people do this but they never want to speak on the offenders rather the minorities insulted.
It’s not hard to understand. You just make it difficult for yourself. OwO
This is something I never understood. There are laws and definitions for a reason, it isn’t personal opinion. I’ll agree someone may take something as offesnive when it isn’t hate speech, but there have been cases of literal hate speech here that haven’t been flagged. I meant in the strictest definition of the law.
Not a wrong ‘personal opinion’
But you know what? Despite the fact that I feel the moderators have been unfair to me recently, I actually feel sorry for them.
There aren’t many mods and so it must be a difficult job to run this forum, especially because people do get off-topic and rude.
I feel like more open communication about what WILL be silenced and what WON’T would make their lives easier, though.
Yes.

Americans in particular - left and right - seem to mix this up in a bad way. Racism gets it a lot, racism has a legal definition, it isn’t up to opinion what it means

There are specific terminology like colonoscopy, and then there are social definitions that can be blurry, regardless if they have specific explanation. like hate speech. And it is very clear to me, as I asked many persons about their understanding, and all of them answered differently.
I’m making it hard on them at the minute, I’ll admit. But you have a point
If they were more open about what they’d flag and silence and how far people could go, I guarantee a lot of people would be more careful with what they posted.
It’s a shame that you kinda need to learn the mods’ interpretations of the rules through a process of trial and error right now.
That means that their understanding of it was slightly off, not that it changes from person to person though. It’s basically like saying in my opinion, the meaning of the word ‘red’ means the colour blue >.>
I mean, someone is free to say that, freedom of speech is a great thing. Wouldn’t make them any more right though
no it’s not. because someone might say that color red is a very specific tone of the red color group, and someone will say that this is a group of colors. get me?

I feel like I need to stress: INTERPRETATIONS. The rules have left a lot open to interpretation and it’s left a lot of people confused and frustrated when they get flagged/silenced.
I mean, we’re all more open to being punished for things we actually actively felt we’d done wrong
But red is still a definition of colours in that group, just like hate speech has things that very clearl are covered in it, like an umbrella. You can’t say that me calling someone an idiot is hate speech, however much you may want to. Calling someone a racist, homophobic, or sexist slur, however, would be counted
Just because something is complex, doesn’t mean you get to make up what it means
