Hi so I am from Czech republic.
Due to fact we are post comunistic country sometimes people think we are like 20 year back comparing to western world. 
well it was so i the comunist time but not now like not at all.
Also people thing we are just next tu Russia while our closest neibourgs in reailty is Germany and Austria and we are in the middle for european continent. But I understand that I would also have problems to say what USA state is exacttly where.
Some people think it is war here some believe we have some big mafia problem - none of it is true and comes more from misinterpreting uf for another country.
Actually we are evaluated as one of the most safest countries in Europe to live in. Things like kids shooting at school or repeated terorist attack are not really happening here as it is unfortunatelly on a common basis in some countries.
Another interesting fact, lot of american fims which have plot situted in Europe are shooted in Prague even it the plot it is not happening in Prague…so sometimes you see in films streets and the fim says it is Berlin but in reality it is Prague. It’s because we have good film studios and good prices and pro filming attitude I guess so it is easier an cheeper for the producers to shoot it here.
What might be interesting about my country …well we are old nation which lived on the same place for extremly long time so it it not as diverse as you are used to in for example USA. The bigest minority are gipsies. Also there ale people from other slavic countries like Ukraine, Russia (but you will nor recognise them just by look). Then we have people from Vietnam here and also some from arabic continent. The rarest are people from africa. But the majiroy is mostly white so…honestly our country would probalby not fit to episode standarts for etnical diversity if I would write story based on my life and people I meet.
We have many churches build in the past but majority of nowaday nation is atheistic.
Despite of being atheis we like Xmass. The traditional food for Xmass is Carp (yah the fish) with potatoe salad. Which I bet is for many totaly weird food for Xmass.
