Texting Background

I noticed in the New Girl by Saige Mercer that she uses a background when the character is texting, and it looks like an iPhone (even with the texting bubbles), but I have no idea where she got it. I noticed there’s a little symbol on the top right, but it’s not enough to know what it’s from.

Well you can upload custom backgrounds to episode so she probably made it herself

Yeah that’s what I thought but the bubble changed like the dots moved like an actual iPhone do

Either Saige or someone else made the background.
The bubble with the dots is probably a combination of 3 overlays; switching between them to make it look as though they are moving like an actual iPhone.
The texting bubbles are probably overlays too with the Episode speechbubble off the screen so you still ‘tap to continue’.

  1. Visit this website: http://iphonefaketext.com/

  2. Save each text message each person says individually so it gives effect.

  3. Once your done saving your image(s) You want to go into paint (Yes paint)
    and open up your first image up.

Capture

  1. Now click on Resize

  1. Now click on Pixels

  1. Make sure you put 640 for Horizontal and 1136 for Vertical

  1. Save it.

  2. Repeat steps 3 to 7 for all images.

  3. To upload your background go to https://www.episodeinteractive.com/write/catalog/place#?tab=4

2nd Way:

(If you want to use default background follow this)

INT. CELLPHONE - DAY

Or if you’d like the character to hold the phone use any background you would like
and use one of the selfie female overlays
for example here is a script template:

INT. TEEN SISTER’S BEDROOM - DAY

@CHARACTER stands screen center AND CHARACTER faces left

@CHARACTER is idle_phone_hold

CHARACTER
(I wonder what she’s up to today)

EXT. BLUE - DAY with SELFIE FEMALE 3

NARRATOR
Insert text here

How do you like put the picture of the person your talking to like sunshine’s picture in that little circle?

I think you just do the same steps I posted last time I viewed this (Scroll up to see)

But once you are finished you don’t export the background(s) to The Art catolog just yet.

(Make Sure you Have All The Images In One Folder so it doesn’t get mixed up)

(You may want to keep a seperate folder for the circle thing I’m about to show you)

  1. Go to your episode script and go to the animations list.

  1. Click the plus icon and choose the animation you’d like them to be doing.

  1. Don’t click the text click the eye next to the animation.

  2. Open up snipping tool (You should have it if you have Windows) and take a photo of the persons face doing the animation.

  3. Save it to your computer

  4. Go to Powerpoint and make a blank presentation.

  5. Insert the photo

  6. Make it bigger

  7. Go onto Picture Tools Format and make sure you scroll down and select this one:

  1. Go to Picture Effects and choose Soft Edges (1 point)

  2. Right click it and click save as picture.

Now insert your text background

Now right click the circle picture and Click Bring Front.

(Now Minimize it and fit it where you would like)

umm I know this is off topic but do you know the name of the animation that has the character making quotation marks with their fingers I cannot find it?

Hi YAY12 do you remember the texting background you helped me? In my episode story, it says it’s not approved because it contains trademarks or references to corporate or business names. Do you know why? I am really confused.
