I agree! I’m not sure why authors tend to make all the characters “pretty” and “hot”, I mean… even the background characters tend to have the same features. I think diversity is really important in a story, and it’s okay for a character to have unique features and body types.
My male MC is more slim/less muscular even though he goes to the gym. Not everyone can gain weight fast, nor can everyone build muscle easily (especially with males)
