What you want in the overlay: I need an article overlay with a heading that says “After 3 years, coma patient is going home!”
and the article itself will say...
"Girl, 21 wakes up from coma and is now fully functioning! Her name is Abi Channer, and she is now going to work for her sister, Claire Channer.
Abi leaves the hospital today and is going to home find a job! Although that may be tricky because she has been diagnosed with amnesia. Our team interviewed the doctors and they revealed that they had done tests that resulted in her diagnostics.
Dr. Hollis said, “She’s overcome so much after slipping into a coma and coming out alive after 2 years! Then she relearns speaking, and acting, and everything else! She truly is a miracle and I’m glad I was the one to help her every step of the way!”
Dr. Hollis and Abi have become great friends over the past year, both of them coming to a true understanding. We asked Dr. Hollis if she was Abi’s doctor in the past but Dr. Hollis refused to comply more information. Here’s the interview we had with her! "

U.S. Cast: Can you tell us why Abi’s family never showed up at the hospital?
Dr. Hollis: It’s against rules for me to share private information about my patient.
U.S. Cast: What did Abi say when she first woke up?
Dr. Hollis: Since my patient was in a coma she couldn’t say words until she relearned them. Her mind had started to retreat to a vegetative state when she woke up, but after about 3 weeks her first sentence was, “Who am I?”
U.S. Cast: It says in our file that you didn’t know she had amnesia til 3 weeks ago, why is that?
Dr. Hollis: We had suspicions, but like I said, my patient was retreating to a vegetative state when she woke up. We figured she was still recovering, that was until she started asking questions we didn’t have the answers to, like where her family was. We immediately did tests that came back positive.
U.S. Cast: It’s amazing how far this young woman has come!
Dr. Hollis: Yes it is!
U.S. Cast: Does Abi remember anything? Does she get flashbacks?
Dr. Hollis: Abi and I are really good friends but she doesn’t share that with me. It’s sad that she doesn’t want to share but we don’t want to push her, after all, her medical record is sad. And Abi has remembered some things, she’s been talking about a guy she sees sometimes when remembering but she can’t ever remember his name.
U.S. Cast: Ah, well thank you for this, Dr. Hollis.
Next overlay:
Abi and her sister both disagreed to interview with our team, however, we did talk to Abi in the hospital where did reveal where she was with her mental and physical state. It was pretty remarkable especially since it was a month after she woke up. Abi truly is a miracle and that is why our team has decided to start a segment for her! Check back next week for more info!
